  4. I would think your good, as well and like yo2001 says its better then not having one at all, but with as cheap as they are getting on ebay for a decent bar and plate intercooler it would be easy to upgrade if you wanted.

  6. Heh I see why you need the spacer lol. Ill take some pics of my new little toy, I cant wait to get it on there, I have a spacer ordered and waiting for it to get here. I was looking on ebay and other sources and found a few ss braided feed lines, in all sizes, can anyone give insight on the proper size for a new line? Would AN fittings work as well or would I need a adapter to the turbo and the pan where it will be coming from? Also yo2001 what is this inline filter you speak of, care to enlighten me, Ive never seen one less what would be used for fuel in that size, show me what your speaking of please.
  7. I know that I should either replace or clean the supply line well and make sure it isnt coked with oil and what not, and of course new gaskets as well, but is there anything that I am missing. Like how do you or would you prime the turbo itself, and what other things should I be doing to make sure the install goes without any problems. This is for a 82 280 ZX turbo. any and all knowledge is appreciated. Another thing being this is a T3/T4OE, will I be needing a spacer to make her fit? and what boost would be the same as with the stock T3 at 15#'s? I just want to be safe with this turbo and have a good service life from it. Thanks
  8. I use a porsche 944 ic, they are core size 17.5 long by 5.5 high by 5.5 wide, and that one according to several like minded sites in the porsche crowd is said to be good for in upwards of 400 hp. I know this much it really cools well.
  9. A booster and mc swap from a Z32. I was thinking with the larger booster and mc that it would help with braking, then again I might be jkust spouting out of the wrong side as well. Would there be any benefit to this at all or would it be more of a waste of time and or money And you are right I did forget to include pertinent information, this is for a 82 280 ZX turbo. Now if that were so about issues with a bigger bore then why do persons go with the bigger ZX mc for the 240Z with upgraded brakes?
  10. At the same time though less powerful, and not as good of a motor, not saying that the Vg30 isnt a good motor, but you cant beat that inliner. Its like the before nissan f'ed up and went to the V motor. Shame Nissan didnt keep the inliner like Toyota did.

  12. If I remember though correctly the cost versus the gain from this head wasnt all that great, if memory serves correctly, and these heads were really quite expensive!!
  13. Well Im sure its the turbo now, if I dont go into full boost it will easily go past 4200 rpms without hesitation. Guess Im out to buy a new one now:D
  14. Well when I got mine it had 150k on it, still with the stock turbo, the po had it ic'd and was running 10 psi. When I had gotten a hold of it I upgraded to bigger pipes and a better intercooler and boosted to 15 psi. Been running it like that since. It now has 196k on the clock and the turbo is now spitting oil out of the compressor. Its had several runs at the track and well even though it is throwing oil, it still pulls well up until about 4k when it just dies lol, guess its going to turbo heaven. Cannot complain though with the mileage thats on this stock Nissan unit.

Another thought that I had as the turbo is going out on its last leg, though it still boosts well, would the fact that it is spitting oil throgh the compressor seal, would that cause any type of surging or reduction in power. It didnt have this problem last year, well while it was still warm. I guess after 195k of service the stock turbo is finally meeting its demise perhaps. I guess you cannot complain about that.
  16. me to lose fuel in the upper end. I have had a leaky turbo which now seems to be leaking much worse now and making a very big mess. Well as Im out to fry it in a way, I was playing a bit tonight and noticed that under boost, my fuel seems to drop off at about 4500 rpms. I start to feel a loss of power as well. Would this be from the fact that my turbo is spitting oil out into the intake and then well into the combustion chamber?
  17. I was checking them out as well and they do look really great, and the price is well in my area of what I would like to spend. I can see me having one as soon as I get a new turbo and rid myself of my current leaking one.

  19. Well the price is 150.00 right now, the exhaust AR is .48, wouldnt that be a bit small for the Z?
  20. Its supposed to be a 60-1 Garrett turbo, I cant tell just from looking at it and I cant find a Garrett site that will tell me what the model number is for that particular series turbo. I think your idea is great and I would also be very interested in this set up, as I am a bit afraid of wiring when it comes down to it and I would feel that I would ruin somethiung along the way, having a basically plug and play set up for what Im runnign on my car would be fantastic. PM me or whatever you need to do, Im definetly IN!!
