  1. I have just done this to my vehicle, an 82 280ZXT. I had adjusted the AFM as per all suggestions that I've seen at 18 teeth clockwise, and the car seems to run well. I have and adjustable fuel pressure regulator, that I have also turned back to 37lbs @ idle looking at the pressure gauge. My question is, should the "pressure" be 37lbs at idle with the vacumn hose connected to the regulator or with it off and then set to 37lbs. I did this and once the vacumn was hooked again pressure wasnt reading as well. Thank you for any help anyone can offer.
  2. Im with Bastaad, I like the idea that I can hear the pump hehe, same reason so I know when it shytes the bed.
  3. They are pretty fast too in stock form, watched one at the track pull 13 flats all day long, only mod was a CAI. Nothing else, Thats pretty good to me.
  4. You should check out the video that was poste with the supra killing a SVT mustang.... the supra left the mustang at a quick pace at 160!!!!
  5. OMG that supra kicks ares!!!!!!, You hear that thing when it starts to spool up my god it sounds scary lol, mustang man must feel really bad getting his arse handed to him at 135, with no probs for the Supra. Sorry that was 160mph when the supra just left him standing. What a ego crusher. Thanks
  6. OMG!!!! that car is just unbelievable, I cant imagine the cost in building it. VERY VERY VERY NICE!!!!!
  7. Ive been trying to decide what to do since my turbos about to go to turbo heaven, its been spitting oil, and Ive been looking at either a new or new to me from a freind turbo, which would still cost after the fact to install or getting a rebuild kit, or buying a used replacement. The rebuild kits arent that expensive and fall into my price range. I have never taken a turbo apart though, and am a bit leary of trying to do it myself. From the parts listed and shown though it doesnt seem to be that hard of a job though I may be fooling myself. What I am asking is, one is it an easy task to rebuild your turbo charger, would it be like new or close to new with the rebuild kit(doesnt include new wheels though), or would it be just as easy or in my better interest to get a used turbo for now till I can afford a new one? Anyone have any opinions that have done this before?
  8. Im looking at this turbo here, and concidering buying it. Its clean and has very low miles. Its a T3/T4 unit. I noticed though it is far different from my stock turbo and will need a Vband clamp to mate up the exhaust. What Im questioning is that this does not have a wastegate like my little T3. Would this type of turbo need to have an external waste gate mounted to the manifold for me to use this turbo and or anyone like it? Figured I would post this here as you guys here seem more technically minded. Hoping Im also not sounding to stupid as well.
  9. Thats a shame, a very nice manifold for a good price, heh though a Z guy could get lucky. Which one does match then, I thought there was a JDM engine that did match or am I misinformed?
  10. If it will fit that is for the ZXT guys. If I remember correctly, doesnt the RB 20 and 25 exhaust match with the L28ET? If so I think this would be a decent turbo exhaust manifold, looks gorgeuos Heres the Ebay link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=7906963507&rd=1

  13. I couldnt get it to work, says "Locked" The requested resource is currently locked. The lock must be released or proper identification given before the method can be applied Pitty would have loved to have seen it.
  14. Ive been trying to find a place and or places that I could price the center section for my turbo as mine is now blowing oil Does anyone know of any good places taht I could buy one and or just get a new T3 for a decent price? I found only one that sells the center section or at least lists it , and it was 250, is that a good price? I appreciate any links or directions anyone could point me in.
  15. Umm can I have it please? I have a 1.50 I can spare, that looks absolutely sweet and I see that you have a Thagard(sp?) intake as well, looks fantastic if you ask me!
  16. I was aksing him about the aluminum rad install, he said it was the best thing he had ever done for his car to keep it cool. the car immediately became about 50 degrees colder just from the rad install. I think you cant go wrong and well now your staying nice and cool, though just a lil bit to cool.
  17. Just as long as its 10#'s or under. Its when you boost higher that it looses its effeciancy.
  18. but stay away from the starion ic, you would be better off without it. lol
  19. I plubmed the rail, coming off of the fuel filter, to the rail, (the route the stock rail took around the front of the head) out the back of the rail (along the fire wall) to the AFPR (mounted on the fire wall), then back to the return, the AFPR is manifold referenced, the injectors are still stock 265cc injectors.
  20. At where the manual tells you, right after the fuel filter and before the rail, as it would be if you have a pressure gauge on the fuel rail. I have a Pallnet fuel rail and no matter what I do since installation, I cant get my car to run correctly. Ran fine before installation, 3 things changed was the new AFPR, fuel rail and one step colder plugs. Symptoms, looking at the AF gauge, it will go from rich to right before the lean mark in stoich, affects the way the car drives in normal conditions. When in atmospheric (boost) runs fine no problems. What Ive tried, adjust the AFM (also returned to stock setting), adjusting the AFPR, anywhere from stock 37psi to 45 psi some change but not always. Timing is on as Ive checked this several times. Plugs look slightly rich, very dark brown. Just tried tonight adjust back to stock pressure, will check plugs again tommorow. Can anyone figure out whats going on with my car, Its a 1982 280zx turbo. Thanks to all that might be able to give me some insight. EZ
