I have to add as well they look gorgeous. Great looking part there.

Let me be the first to say, thanks for a good amount of information, and explaining it in laymens. I got every bit of what you were tryign to put out from that. Good little read. Thanks!
-
Sounds like a plan and thanks for the information.

So all in all then if I wanted something strong it would be just better to go with what most are going with here and that would be ther R230 set up then? I currently have a R200 LSD from a 87 turbo, is it worth trying or?
-
Is there any real difference, are the Z31 turbo CV's stronger then the S130 CV's? I was over at Zcar and someone had posted that they were, is this true? If so is the Z31 CV a bolt up affair to the S130 chassis?

Like the others said no room for advancement as if you were to say have a Microtech, SDS, erm Haltech used. All of those can be had for the same price as a comprable Wolf system. Another thing to mention is once you want to do something different, ie bigger injectors, new turbo, or the like, your having to send the ecu back to wolf for reprogramming.

Just browsing through ebay and found this thought it might be of interest to someone, as its only has a buy it now of 250, why cant payday come faster. Maybe someone here could get this, looks to be in great shape http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7948443214&category=33741

I havent had any dealings with this place at all, but was going to when I had some extra money going to buy a new remaned set of 370cc injectors from them, theyre price, a wopping 25 dollars each! Many other injectors are available as well at rock bottom prices, least from what I have found researching, just happened across this site while searching for injectors. Here is a link http://injectors4u.com/injector_prices.htm

Ive been drooling over that yellow Z for ages now, I just wish I had the money to go and buy it, if I did it would be mine, NOW lol Forrest you are totally correct on that as well if the car is built right, for what the price is you couldnt beat that at all.

Hmm, the first one I got to see was the turbo motor going boom! I did see the mall wars after the fact, that one was quite entertaining, "oops sorry, see thats how you do it" lol.

No matter what you do, will the turbo go lean at high rpms?
EZ-E replied to EZ-E's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Well that is the information I needed to know. Thanks for the heads up Bastaad. That totally explains a lot and I see it somewhat from when I drive it, when the car first starts boostin I can see how rich it runs from the huge black plume exiting my exhaust. Then as you said as the RPM's go higher it clears up straight away. Great explanation, I agree with the steps as well. Thanks! -
I looked at the Extrude Hone page, 600 for porting an intake! WOW, costs more then what I had thought.
-
TWM sells a kit like that of what your looking for, as for the turbo motor the price seems a bit high, but if it is in great low mileage condition I guess it would be worth it.
-
That is one gorgeous car, and I think the anodized blue would be a good look for it. That polished aluminum going down the road on a sunny day would just blind you lol.
-
OMG!!! That just sent chills down my body, something you definetly do not want to hear!

Being a tube and fin design I cant see it being that effecient but it is a HKS, though I hope he didnt buy it, not for the price that is sells. Could have bought a much better IC and piping elsewhere.

I have adjusted the afm to 19 ticks tighter for the car to run well and still just a tad rich at idle. It idles well though and I never had any problems, like you all said I could just bump up the pressure when I want to go to the track as well. Just seems weird that with what I have that it would go that lean. Its been very and I mean very cold here as of late, so Ill have to wait to test again as it the temperature is well into the - single digit right now lol. Well we will wait and see what happens, Im just wondering if I went further then 6500rpms. Concidering with the digital dash it is really hard after 5k rpms to see where your at in reality. Curious to see what the fuel pressure is and Tim i like your idea, it may look silly but there is nothing wrong with that, like you said im not wanting to catch on fire lol. Thanks for the suggestions, when the weather gets a bit better, Ill let you know what i get. -
Forgot to mention though, awesome times no less, 12 second ZX is great, I hope to be in the 12s this year im only at 13.4 now.
-
You know, well I hope at least that starion isnt part of your set up anymore, there was a guy on Zcar that had one, pressurised it and was loosing 3#'s of boost only at 10 turbo side to the intake side. I bet you would notice huge gains from a much more effecient ic.
-
I like the sound of a all wheel drive RB powered Z, if you could do that, now that would be something to talk about for ages!!!

I mean Im one not to trust fuel running into the cabin of the vehicle. I didnt check the plugs straight away, as it was about still 3 miles to my house from where I made the run. The plugs are a colder BPR7ES plugs as well. What I dont get is that with the 370cc injectors at 15#'s of boost I should be at 52#'s of pressure at full boost, and I just cant see how it would be going lean. I have one of Pallnets fuel rails, maybe I could run a line off of that from where the pressure gauge on the rail is outside of the hood, so I could look at it. I know that the electrical is well and Im not losing any power for it to drop pressure, amperage is at 13.6, so no loss there. Thing is I have a digital dash, not the analog dash so its hard to tell where Im at above 5k rpms because of that digital dash, so I was going to use the mileage for shift points. Could the tranny calculator be off, and Im going higher then where i should be in the scale of mph vs rpms? Thanks for your suggestions guys. -
Exactly as the others said, so if your set at 36 psi with the vacumn off, at idle you should be good, when you reconnect the vacumn at idle you will see it drop to about 30 psi. No worries there.

Nice numbers and a very clean engine bay, Im quite jealous.

Just a curious thing, I was thinking of how to get my best run at the track, looking at the transmission calculator and with what I have in my car, using a redline of 5500 rpms, I should be shifting as follows 1 = 30 2 = 50 3 = 80 4 = 106 I have an 82 Turbo, stock electronics, 370cc injectors, AFPR (currently set at 38 psi static), walbro 255 gph fuel pump, intercooler, boost at 15#'s, it has the borg T-5, and a 3.7 LSD, with 225 50 15 rubber. Well on a lone stretch of road I decided to test the calculator. I got to about 65 and all was still well till I hit 70 and the AF meter started going from rich to mental flapping from lean to rich, in a very strange matter, was extremely erratic. Anyway I get home, pull the plugs, they are as expected very clean and white. Now usually I dont go above 5k, but figured maybe that little more would help. Does it always happen like this no matter what you do, as long as you have stock computer and electronics will it just lean out at 5k+ rpms?

Finally got the car started!!! But then it wouldn't turn off

I had this problem with my car, running for a long time while the fuel was shut off. Found that my injectors, well at least 4 of them were bad. For that point I would try to make sure that your settings are proper for fuel and air. Maybe get a noid light or just use a multimeter and see how your injectors are firing or if they are staying open as was the case with mine. With wiring I am a moron lol, so I wont suggest anything there.
