  1. I get people trying to pass me/race me in totally slow cars all the time (so naturally I have to hand out a lot of whoopings). I don't know why, but I think some people must think Z's are slow cars or maybe they have insecurity issues/jealousy so they try to make themselves feel better by "beating" the Z.
  2. "biru" is really the Japanese word for beer, no joke. I saw it on the menu at a sushi restaurant....mmmmm, Sapporro
  3. I live in Cali and go to the range often. When I take my rifle, I keep it in its case and put it in the hatch area of the Z, and I keep the ammo in the glove box (and if there's alot of ammo I keep the rest on the passenger side floor). When I bring a pistol, it is in a case and I put it in the little "emergency box" under the hatch carpet, and the ammo in the glove box/floor. A few different cops have told me this is the correct method of transport. P.S. I think you're supposed to say "magazine", not "clip". Sorry, pet peeve
  4. Isn't there an old joke.....cops are just guys who weren't smart enough for the military....that Sherrif's Deputy sounds like an ***.
  5. Check out Sonoma County, CA. I lived there 11 years ago. Weather is absolutely perfect (Mediterranean climate), landscape is rural and beautiful (wine country), within an hour of SF or Sac, great for watersports, traffic okay, low crime, good schools, Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) Thunderhill etc. Might be a bit pricey though as the market is swelling in response to the Marin housing market. But that also means if you buy in now you'll earn a ton of equity.
  6. lol He can't drive 55 either!
  7. I saw one a few months ago driving down 2nd street next to me, white with blue stripes. I was admiring the car heavily....then I realized the guy driving it was Sammy Haagar (sp?)....that was cool.
  8. EPA mpg for a stock C5 with the 6speed is 19 city/ 28 highway, and EPA ratings have been proven to be overestimations...something is off here.
  9. Haha, damn! You guys beat the HELL outta my old L24! My SU's are leaky through the throttle shaft so I have to run them at around 3 turns out to remain driveable. I get about 15 city and *maybe* 20 highway on a long trip. I do pass CA smog at the pipe with flying colors though (even though I don't have to)! 1973 240z L24, twin SUs ('72), custom airbox, custom balance tube ZX elec. dizzy ('79) stock 4 speed tranny stock R180 3.36 American Racing mags, 215/60/14 yokos very poor paint (currently saving $$ for L28et) You?
  10. You Oakland guys are crazy drivers man! LOL Whenever I drive through the East Bay on 80/580 everyone is going waaayyy over the limit. I usually go around 70 honestly, but MANY cars will come up from behind at least 10-20 mph faster than me and swerve around me as if I was some old geezer doing 45 in the fast lane (when I'm actually doing 70). I'm like damn, where's the fire? LOL I'm guessing that's just normal over there eh?
  11. I agree with EZ-E, plus the Murcialago is an entirely different model from the Gallardo, so you can't really compare. It's like saying "my Camaro lost, but a Corvette would win"
  12. I learned AutoCAD R14 in high school (about 7 years ago). It was intuitive and easy to learn. I haven't had a chance to mess around with the newest version though, but I would guess it's just as easy to learn. Just sit there and screw around with it for a couple afternoons and you'll learn most of what you need to know for 2-D. We used AutoCAD to design and build our projects in Engineering class, like a balsawood bridge, glider, a human-powered gokart, etc. We even used our AutoCAD files for a CNC machine to cut out parts for a few projects.
  13. The F360 has a 3.6 liter v8 and that Maserati engine on Ebay is a 4.2 liter v8. Very cool though. Now who's gonna put it in a Z?
  14. I don't think just switching the starter or battery would allow you to run the engine in reverse rotation. Normally, for each cylinder, the camshaft opens the intake valve first and the exhaust valve second, which in reverse would be the exhaust valve first and the intake valve second. So you would at least need a reverse rotation camshaft. On the other hand, maybe a 2-stroke would do it.
  15. yeah, brother, way to fight the power! LOL This tinfoil hat protects me from their mind control...
  16. 2800 lbs would be nice, but a bit of a stretch. No Camaro has ever been less than 3200 lbs in production trim. When the Camaro comes out I bet it's just a re-bodied GTO (the GTO would take the place of the Firebird). 3600 lbs with a 400hp LS2 (still too heavy). Maybe if we're lucky it'll have the IRS. I actually think the 67/68 Camaro looked better than the 69, so hopefully they change the grill a bit too.
  17. What I would say to that guy is have fun being a "wolf", ALONE in your freezing cold, dark, abandoned house, eating food from a can that you carried in on foot, and masturbating to keep your mind off your paranoid schemes. Meanwhile, myself being a "sheeple", I will be at home in my warm, well lit apartment, having sex with my hot girlfriend after a tasty meal and a movie that I drove leisurely in my Z to get. Of course, I'm just a slave to the overlords...
  18. I like it a lot! Hopefully its not a porker like the rest of these modern retro-remakes are. Lets see if GM builds the damn thing though...
  19. I was reading about that Toda stroker kit in an old mag I have, and they were saying it is the exact same setup used on the JGTC cars. So it should be very very durable. I'm sure it would take 7500-8000 rpm without problems, and lots of boost!
  20. LOL, no not a width problem (I'm 205# fairly fit) but when I sat in my friends Miata with the top up I was completely slumping over to keep my head under the top. And there was not enough leg room. But the new Miata is something like 6" longer inside, and I hear there's more headroom too! Now if only Mazda would turbo the new ones....
  21. Yeah the new Miatas are cool. Bigger engine, stiffer chassis, more aggressive body. The only gripe I had with the old Miatas was that I didn't fit (6'3"), but I hear the new ones are much roomier inside. So how good is the handling in that Scion, anyhow?
  22. Ford is not doing so well, almost went bankrupt....and Chrysler (Dodge) has been a financial burden on Daimler.
  23. I wouldn't get too carried away with the "business side" of GM (calling them "genius"). GM and the rest of Detroit are doing very poorly financially...
