How lucky you are to have a rhd Z. Don't let it get away this time. As for the dash, I remember seeing an ad in an issue of hotrod or carcraft, anyway there was a company that would recover those plastic/vinyl dashes from the '78 to '87 GM Abody dashes with factory appearance. I'm sure with some research on the net you can find more info. I would love to have a lhd Z in decent shape, I'm a little jealous you have a rhd. j/k Anyway godd luck on your Z!

Hey, congrats on the first drive. I know it must have felt awesome. I remember my first ride in a V8 Z, it was surreal. I still like that flat black paint, looks wicked. Good Luck on getting the bugs out.

Grumpyvette, I have an old article from phr magazine that shows a BBC Z install in a 240Z. I am not able to post pics here for some reason, but if you pm me your email address, I'll send them to you.

Mr. Hanns, Here is a link to this article I read. My idea is to use one cooler for each of the turbos. Mount the coolers to the fenderwells in front of the strut housings. I put together a 75' 280Z with the JTR setup. It had a sbc, edelbrock torker II intake, holley 750, and edelbrock dropbase air cleaner. It all fit with room to spare under the stock hood.

It's nice to see you posting again, you must be busy getting the Z ready for 9 second times. I am really glad to see you taking this step, as I am quite confident your Z will run 9.50's at least. (traction permitting of course). I wish I was able to take advantage of your offer. Kick it up a notch!! All hail Mr. Turbomeister!!!

Maybe your R200 was on it's last leg anyway, and your newfound power pushed it over the edge. Look at the power some of these guys are pushing through their R200's and R230's. Granted I don't have near the experience of grumpyvette or dr hunt. If it were me, I would practice porting these peanut heads, heck you probably can't hurt them. Porting them would increase their performance, altough there are much better heads out there. Think of it as a learning experience. You are lucky to have a big-block to play with at all, even with peanut heads. I've seen bent or broken pushrods, but never one through the rocker arm. I wouldn't be suprised to find the cam with flat lobes. Anyway, good luck!

As Deep previously posted you must have balls of titanium. Your Z is going to be a handfull and then some. I think full track length burnouts will be possible. I really like the alcohol fuel idea, the only downside I see is it comsumes so much more fuel. 10 gallons to go to Walmart......j/k. I know you'll keep us posted on your progress. I wish you the best luck in getting the Z going. Oh, be sure to bring an extra set of underwear when you go for the first spin......LOL!

DR Hunt, It sounds like you have a really wicked combo in the works. Please post pics as you go. IMO, it seems your Z is leaning more toward track use than street, just my opinion. I must say it sounds like it will be wickedly fast. I saw the pics of your Monte by the way, nice car. No wonder "they" tried to steal it 6 times. Although your project sounds awesome, I am a true Turbomeister fan. I will keep tabs on your progress as well. Maybe you will motivate Mr. T to add an intercooler and some slicks. Who knows, it will be interesting to have 2 bad-a$$ turbo V8 Z's on the forum. Good Luck!

As far as I kknow you should be able to use the T56 with the 305. Good Luck!

If it were me, I would look into getting some vortec heads, maybe a comp cam XE268 or so. Then an Edelbrock performer rpm intake, 600 holley. Then some block hugger headers. I don't think I would bother stroking a 305. Just save your money for a future engine build, i.e. 350, 383, 406, or maybe even a turbo. Once your Dad sees that you can be responsible with the 305, maybe he will go for it. Anyway, good luck on whatever you decide.
