  1. Well finally I have the 3.90gears and Precision Gear 2-LSD installed in my R200, and my 280zx has awaken. The handling improvement is phenomenal, not to mention the traction and pick up off the line. Best investment by far that I have made in my S130. Leith280zlt1 did an awesome job rebuilding by R200. Grade "A" work. No grinding or whining what so ever. For future Z owners looking for an improvement in your differential I seriously reccommend Leith. Not to mention he'll give you one heck of great deal.
  2. Nope never seen it. That front fascia is awesome, very similar to what I designed. I also noticed that the fenders..err the flared part has been enlarged and widened, not to mention the car has a complete kit from what I can see. Sideskirts, front fascia, and rear skirt. My guess is that it is a well inspired custom. Close reality of what I want. Got any other pics of that beauty?
  3. Okay I just had Leith280zlt1 install 3.90gears and a Precision Gear powerbrute 2-way LSD into my R200. Would you reccommend Royal Purples MAX GEAR synthetic oil for this setup. Consider that this differential could and probably will be subjected to the stresses that drifting, and autox offer. Or would a non synthetic oil be better. I am still kinda a newb when comes to picking the right fluids. The Precision Gear person I talked to didn't seem to confident in synthetics. What is your opinion? I know I need something with a GL-5 or higher rating as per the Precision Gear person.
  4. I said corvette, particularly ZO6 they look so good with that widebody. But even better than all that is on that's on the list hold out for the Nissan GT-R due for release next november as a 2008 model. V6 turbo turbo might be bit different than the pushrod V8 but for the competition that this car is supposed to match this might jsut what your looking for. AWD, luxurious, powerful, and great handling, and good old Japanese reliability what gets better.

  6. That's pretty nice. I wonder if that would work. I wonder what they look like from the front. Nice find, something to consider. I wonder why they classify by Lumens and not CandlePOWER like most HID lights.
  7. icice9 that is a really nice kit on that zx. The car itself jsut sits a little to high off the ground IMO. I like how they blended the front fenders.

  9. Those of you looking for Nismo LSD's should consider Precision Gear LSD's. They are mechanically identical one just has a NISMO stamp and costs more, they come from the exact same plant in Japan from Fugi Heavy Industries. Leith280zlt1 on this forum is going to be installing one (a 2-way) in my R200 in about a week. He is trying to sell enough of these to become a vendor for Precision Gear. I'll tell you how comes out in few weeks. Those of you interested in purchasing one should send Leith a PM, he can probably cut you a good deal on one.

(this is not for a Z but thought you guys might be able to help since some of your have some pretty crazy things going on with your engines as far as turbocharging go's) think 2JZ-GTE engine I have a somewhat awkward question. As we all know the the Supras had the option of a turboed model. Of which was a sequential setup. Has anyone every created another type of Sequential setup. Here is my first idea. Two turbos (obviously) one small one large, two exhuast manifolds, two wastegates, and the two turbos. Plumb the "cold side" of the small turbo to the cold side input of the big turbo. The second exhuast manifold just feeds the big turbo, the bypassed gas from the first turbo would be fed into the a pipe that would koin exhuast gases from the other manifold prior to the second wastegate and also help spool the big turbo . Obviously after all pressurizing the air would be intercooled. What is your take on this idea. Inefficient? Second idea, use one exhuast manifold two wastegates and two turbos. Set the wastegate on the small turbo to become open at a designated pressure. Allow the small turbo generate about 10-15psi. The dumped gas is then sent off to turbo number 2. Getting this done could be done via reentering the exhuast manifold or by plumbing a tube that is outside of the manifold but joins the gas flow prior to the second wastegate to feed the second turbo. Also mind you that the small turbo would always be spinning and pressurizing the big turbo. When the small turbo is being spooled the pressurized air would be routed to the inlet of the second turbo. Then the final air volume pressurized by the big turbo is intercooled. Your take on this idea? Third idea. By far the most complex. One manifold two wastegates two turbos and a two way valve on the small turbos "cold side outlet". The idea should allow for the least amount of lag an great power thorughout the powerband. Make the small turbo generate about 10-15psi. The valve on the outlet of small turbo would allow air to go directly to the intercooler up till the maximum set boost for that turbo 10-15psi. Then the valve would redirect the air to the big turbo for the remainder of the powerband in order to help spool the big turbo. The valve is used to not lose boost at low rpm due to resistance by the big turbo. Note that once the 10-15psi is met by the small turbo, not only would the output boost pressure spool the big turbo but the gases redirected by the wastegate would also help spool the big turbo. Not sure if the big turbo would need a fresh air supply on the inlet of the cold side when air is not being bypassed to it from the small turbo. If needed two pipes could be spliced onto the big turbo; one that would come from the small turbo the other being a fresh air supply. with the thrid setup the lower rpm and low midrange woud look like Small turbo feeding 80-90% of boost and minimal boost coming from the big turbo The high midrange and high rpm would look like 80-90% boost coming from big turbo being "prespooled" consistently with 10-15psi of air pressure and bypassed exhaust gases from the small turbo. The most obvious problem with this setup would be plumbing. I need some opinions. Goals are this, a linear powerband, not a huge power jump at high rpm. Good low end power and hig low end torque and a peak horsepower over 900hp. Essentially I'm researching to find a minimal lag system that can generate a lot of power and offer good power at all rpm. The engine is the infamous 2JZ-GTE engine. What is your take on these ideas? Feel free to criticise, as it can only enrich my knowledge of these complex systems. I see it this way. One big turbo, lots of lag huge power jump at high rpm, no good. Two small turbos working in parallel, consistent power low lag, lack high horspower potential. Sequential setup, could be the holy grail for little lag, power everywhere, and high horsepower capabilities.
  11. How about this. 225-55-15. Width ways 215-225 ought to go you good I'd think and still look good, 235 if you want to really get a wide tire on there and still not look rediculous, the 225 will probably look the best IMO. Also the 225-55-15 ought to give you a sidewall height of about 2.5". If you want to retain a close to stock look. Then a 225-60-15 or 225-65-15 would also work. Personally I'd go with the 225-55-15. Might lower the car a smidge (.25" to .5"), but I like the look of a lower profile tire personally.

You could literally spend a lifetime playing that game to build a world in a solar system in a galaxy, while you sit in front of your computer, in your house, in your city, in your world in your galaxy and miss out on you own life all together to to create another. What a sad prediciment, awesome but sad. That must really love what he does to come up with an idea like that and make into a "reality".

What to mean by a "shocker" does his (beep) fly out or does he have a tazer, or is it something else all together. BTW those videos were downright hilarious.
  17. This is correct. Simple physics, but that wording was horrible. With questions like that you just gotta use common sense. I'm in Phys180, which is one of the requirements for my B.S Mechanical Engineering degree, I see problems like this all the time in my homework, and they suck.
  18. that is interesting, for the longest time I though those were LED powered. Or are LEDS HID's also? In other words are HID's not just limited to Xenon bulbs?
  19. Like everyone said to paint looked gorgeous, but honestly the bedliner stuff looks pretty good too. Just never spray any "tire shine" on it. Although mega shiny it also becomes mega dust magnet, QUICKLY! I found this out the hard way. Assuming you have blue components on the engine, the herculiner ought to offer a nice contrast/ backdrop to make the motor really stand out, which is exactly what you want to have happen, my .02.

  21. This one took me two lunch breaks to complete. The details are getting more intricate now. I'm still screwing up the wheels, the wing is too tall, the angle of the major axis of the wheels is off, and the front end looks shorter than it should, damn! Designing from memory, and a memory that doesn't exist but only in imagination, is a rather pain in the butt, especially with nothing to reference to Anyways you know the drill. Why do I tempt myself so?
  22. Its nice to see someone else trying to modify a ZX. Are you going to fabricate sideskirts to complement that fascia? And are you going to lower the vehicle? What did you use to build the shape of fascia, you know a subframe to stretch fabric over? Kinda reminds me of the electramotive ZX or the Arizona Z car kit but only to a small degree. Really anything for a 280zx is original so I give you a for you efforts and creativity, keep it up and keep updates coming.
