  1. if my car was clean enough to begin with maybe i would have attempted an OEM restoration but... that surely wasnt the case! me just sticking with my carbed L28 is purist enough for me. i think "to each his own" and for that guy to give you that look and leave just bothers me. whatever. as far as the jackets, only the patches were for sale. there was a group buy here for them a while back and i dont think they are available anymore. you can try ebay for the patches then just go directly to http://www.dickies.com and choose the jacket and put it on!
  2. hey which model dickies jacket is it? the eisenhower? i should wear my vintage datsun race crew suit one day!
  3. wow that looks great, your dash is so clean! is that a cap?
  4. here are my backup lights in white led's of course. i still haven't ordered the red led's for the turn/stop lights, but you get the idea. there is also a way to etch your own PCB if you want. there are a few ways to do it, here is a good website though. http://max8888.orcon.net.nz/pcbs.htm also, makezine (awesome magazine btw) has quite a few tuts on their page. do a search, here are 2 of them http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2005/12/how_to_create_your_own_pcbs.html http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2005/10/pcb_creation_printed_circuit_b.html?CMP=OTC-0D6B48984890

  6. i'm in the process of rebuilding my F54 block. i've been told i should replace the bearings. however, there seems to be several types. crank and rod. do i need to order both? what size? there are standard and there are overbore sizes. if i am doing a simple stock rebuild, would i order the standard? how about piston rings? autozone carries these products, would you recommend i go with them, or someone else? thanks in advance!
  7. yeah i forgot to clarify what i was using the 26 for, its very thin but i'm using it for my firewall. i think roost is on the money for all else though
  8. its like por 15 but cheaper and is only a 1 stage process which helps lower the cost further. its also UV resistant right off the bat. it does not require a top coat like por15 if it will be exposed to sunlight. the only "downside" is that there are just 2 colors available but this stuff will take well to just about any kind of paint. http://www.rustbullet.com for their site.
  9. thanks for the info, looks like i'll have to finish some welding before i can do the RB then. i want to paint it black using a can of spray paint or something. i'm almost done shaving my engine bay, now all i need is a welder to patch it up =)
  10. I'd like to purchase some Rust Bullet and I'm hoping 1 quart will be enough. Its supposedly good for up to 50sq ft. Any ideas? Also, is it ok to spray paint over Rust Bullet? Thanks in advance
  11. damn.. i have 2 extra square port ones.. and the answer is no they wont work lol
  12. Would I need to keep my current wiring harness to keep the connectors or is that all included in the new kit? I'd like to sell my harness to help pay for the new wiring kit, most likely the EZ2WIRE kit.
  13. here are some updates from today some of the crap removed from my engine bay today not to mention the engine the old setup it took a leak... a/c compressor and mounting bracket (HEAVY!) oliver ridin' my motor! haha what the new setup will look like. no air horns yet but black powder coated K&N filters (not shown) are whats in store.
  14. i've seen plenty of boxes located inside, i don't see how it could be a problem but then again, i don't know if they have other provisions in place to boost voltage to the coil/dizzy either. i doubt that one is even necessary..
  15. they are good, my friend's dad has one and has never had a problem. thats a good buy for such low mileage! my personal preference goes to a comparable 4Runner...
  16. thats amazing work there it looks awesome. thats a one piece tilt front end right?
  17. saw this on another forum how does one find those flared pipes to begin with?
  18. If anyone has a complete MIG outfit available, I will pay to rent one from you for a weekend at the most. There area few things I need to complete before my move to DC and the lack of a welder is holding me back.. purty please?
