  1. that might be easier/cheaper to do.. i'll have to see if that is possible. my buddy borrowed my seat for a track event looks good thanks for the pic, nice car!
  2. i'll add my experiences... i added seafoam thinking it would clean up the carbon deposits and stuff... well, in short, it DID but not the way i intended it to haha. apparently, the carbs were set with the engine and all the carbon deposits and it was running decent. after the seafoam wiped out all the gunk and carbon, there was now too much fuel running through and i was running super rich. my plugs were fouling every 10 seconds of running and i had to keep a wire brush with me at all times to re clean the plugs. on a side note, i did use the stuff in my daily and ... i didnt notice an incredible improvement but at least it didn't ruin anything :/
  3. thanks for the pics, they will definately help out. i hope to install the seat within a few weeks. btw awesome work you've done there!
  4. i'd like to fabricate some seat rails based on the stock rails to fit my Recaro SPG. anyone have tips or plans (pics would be great) so I have an idea? i would be using MIG or TIG. thanks
  5. haha of course i remember! it was backfiring like crazy and the exhaust leak was leaking into the cabin. i think i almost passed out! lol. well, since then i've purchased weber triples (which i never installed and are for sale) and then some mikuni triples. i have a lot of stuff planned for it
  6. after many, MANY months... my car is getting primed for paint again. long story short, my car was about to get painted about 7 months ago (was in this very stage) when a drunk lady ran into the body shop and into several cars literally 1 or 2 days before it was marked for the paint booth. mine was damaged front and rear. fast forward to today... i apologize for the crappy phone pics. i'm hoping she'll be done soon!
  7. i know plenty of guys that can't spell for anything but they do know their stuff like the back of their hand lol.
  8. check out this neat little program: http://www.zcarcreations.com/downloads/lengine.zip
  9. hey mike, i think i still have your number. i'll call sometime soon. the valve cover is pretty rare.. i may end up keeping it myself. as far as the Y70 head, i too have never heard of it. the guy that sold it to me said it might be good serving its purpose as a boat anchor. bad flow characteristics and such.
  10. got some new things to play with! will be moving it to my workshop tonight or tomorrow. the Y70 head is supposedly useless so I will practice porting/polishing on that. the E30 head is pretty rare in the states, but close to the sought after E31 head, anyone interested? looks like i'm selling my newly rebuilt triple webers! finally got the mikuni's i've been looking for, but now I've got to get these rebuilt.
  11. the 1st one i wouldn't go for. the 2nd one are the same lights i got, but the projectors are trash. get some of the plain diamond cut ones and it will save you a few bucks and its also a little less work. the 3rd one is great, however, look for some that are already dismantled. buying that way will save you from paying an arm and a leg shipping and an already higher price for the headlight housings which you dont need
  12. haha i'm gonna have to agree dude. this would just look.... weird. but to each his own i guess!
  13. btw, mine are for sale! i'm selling everything minus the ballasts for $250 =)
  14. thats a good set. bmw utilizes valeo made projectors and i think Hella ballasts. assuming those are all OEM parts, $300-400 is cheap. the only thing you would need are the bezels, which are only for cosmetic and light shielding (for glare).
  15. for the wiring harness: this is from Ocealaris from HID PLANET, not from me! for the full diagram, go to http://www.hidplanet.com and sign up
  16. i've done the same thing =) looks great man. if its not too late, i would open it up and seal the edges so the light doesn't leak out of the side onto the reflector. the light should only come out of the projector, any of the light that leaks out will lead to glare which might piss off any oncoming drivers. as far parts, pick up some projectors from a BMW, Audi, S2000, etc. get some OEM ballasts (Hella, Matsushita, Phillips, etc.). next, just some Phillips or Osram bulbs in 4100k temp. and you are good to go. I've got a diagram to make your own wiring harness as well if anyone wants to do it! (its not hard!!!)
  17. again, the seats will definately need to be re-upholstered, but otherwise they are great seats.
  18. the seats are in Houston, TX 77056. PM me your email address so I can send pictures.
  19. thanks for the input, i was wondering if they would fit myself. but yeah, great support in these seats. he was using them to play GT4! haha
  20. i hope i dont get flamed for this. i've got a friend selling his stock seats for $250 but no pictures yet so its not in the BUY/SELL area. any takers? the upholstery will need to be redone but otherwise in good shape.
  21. i heard that vintage paint scheme alone is an additional $15k on top of the vehicle cost! anyway, i love this one:
  22. isn't it also true that drilled rotors eat through the brake pad faster?
  23. i'm in houston,tx . i have an E88 head with triple 40's and would like to get a medium cam to match, however, it is possible my car already has one installed, i just dont know since i haven't been able to open it up yet since my car has been in the body shop for about 1 year now (long story). i'm praying that it will done by late feb so i can start reworking the motor and suspension. my eventual goal is to get it to spin to 8000k reliably and my plan is to have it as a track day car. are these regrinds off a stock cam or a fresh billet grind? just curious. thanks man, jason
  24. oh haha whoops. i dont often check this section for some reason. nice motor! what other cams do you have? and did you want to sell one?
