  1. sweet! another guy in san diego that digs guitars and Zs
  2. also, don't forget you'll need either an EFI fuel tank or a surge tank
  3. sounds like all your mechanic did was reverse the plug wires. you can swap them back to where they were if you pop the dizzy cap, mark EXACTLY where the rotor is pointing, then pull the dizz. drop the oil pump (it's messy), rotate the gear 180*, and put it back in using one bolt. put the dizzy back on (180 out) and see how much you need to correct it. once you get it so that it lines up with the mark you made, bolt everything back together and you're good to go.
  4. 17x7s? yeah. not sure of the offset though, but i have 15x7s on my car. i did have to roll the fender, but with 17s you can BS them more. i think my 15s are 0 offset. it also depends on what size tire you put on the wheels.
  5. actually, the more i look at it, the more i like the polished...
  6. i think they are referring to the clutch... i may have read it wrong, though haha, a cookie??? and yes, the pressure plate makes up a LOT of the clamping force
  7. a few members on here have done a full swap. someone will probably speak up. but you'll probably just want a complete engine harness and you'll also need an ECU.
  8. well, now that you mention it, i don't have edit either!
  9. i think the edit feature expires after a certain amount if time. or like if you post a few more posts. not sure, lemme check.
  10. update! j/p. but when you (1 fast z) come out to cali i hope you are stopping by SD
  11. agreed. i was like "there are no GW sharks in San Francisco....."
  12. indeed! you can thank my wife for that information, as i started reading about the differences in 510s after she bought hers
  13. here's what i did: 1. dropped the tank (drained it first, of course) 2. poured in a decent amount of acetone (some other solvent will probably work better, but this is all i had on hand) 3. took a chain and swizzled the bottom of the tank (use one that's made of a metal that is not prone to sparks) 4. drained the tank through the filler neck port. you would not believe the crud that came out of there. anyway, flushing it with water may help as well, but you'll want to make sure it gets dry; and use some of that stuff designed to get water out of your fuel when you fill up.
  14. i have the 2.5" w/ header and it sounds great. i'm thinking about putting a resonator in because there is resonance between 1800-abd 2300. but otherwise it's nice. i'll try to post up an exhaust sound clip later.
  15. at that rate why not use a '68 510 fender "arrow" light? don't get me wrong, would look pretty dope.
  16. what EMS are you using? could be a bad knock sensor...
  17. i think those figures were a little over/under exagerated
  18. go pick up a gas cap! you're asking for trouble.... but sounds like you're gonna have to drop the tank and clean out some nasty rust deposits....
