  1. There really is no good online guide, get the book, Comepetition Car Composites by Simon McBeath. Maybe this site will help, http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=32 As for the poly resin, your work time depends on how much hardner you use with the resin. The Home Depot stuff I use is 14 drops per ounce. I usually put in a little less depending on how long I intend to work as well as the temperature. Mix only what you need. Oh, try Aircraftspruce.com as well for materials. I could go on and on but I'd rather tell you to read the book Owen
  2. That just sux, it really sux....but I've missed two or three shows already and I'm making an offering to the gods that I don't miss thiis one! Owen
  3. It's Autobacs or Super Autobacs, http://www.autobacsusa.com/ It's about 20min from MSA. Hey, we should all drag our Zs over there after the show! Owen
  4. Make sure you get the ones with the right impedance, either high or low. OEM style injectors were high impedance (I think) and I needed low. The ones I saw in summit or jegs weren't usable with my EFI system. Owen
  5. It probably is! But I tried the light mist, etc. etc. I suck Owen
  6. I would definitely like to see what the insides of that cowl area look like. Is the wiper motor mounted in the same location, etc. Thanks, Owen
  7. Cool, well, I'm near broke so I'm gonna stick with what I have for now. Take pix of everything once you get all the parts! Owen
  8. Anyone have any luck with this stuff? http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=32453 I tried steel-steel aluminum-steel fiberglass-steel fiberglass-aluminum Didn't do the rubber to metal test like on their website cuz I would never have a use for this. What I mean by the stuff not working is, the objects would bond but very gentle pressure with ny hands would break it. Might as well us super glue.... I tried to follow the directions to the letter, but I think the difficulty is in the spray. "They say a light mist, if you see moisture, it's too much", well I must a needed to pour that thing into a humidifier cuz no matter how light my spray was, it was all no good. Tried their other method too, spraying the outside edges of the bond...still no good...I'll try posting this on their forum to see what they say. Seems to be too much trial and error, I just wanna stick it on and be done with it. Owen
  9. I'm worried about my pre-1973 block. It's identical to a 1973 or later, but rules is rules and the casting numbers is what they go by... Time for a turbocharged natural gas engine like the Rinspeed? Owen
  10. Jon, Was there a weight reduction with the change in rotors? I'm running Toy calipers and Z31 5 lug setup from Ross C. Is the aluminum spacer still used also? Thanks! Owen
  11. I KNEW it, and all that talk about the state not having enough budget...well, effective immediately or not, I doubt it'll be widespread. Hey Tim I still have that other 3" dia high flow catalytic (I know it's here somewhere) if ya need it As to the photo-ing of cars with high emissions...how about this? It was mentioned here before... http://www.phantomplate.com/photoblocker.html http://beta.kpix.com/news/local/2003/09/12/Will_a_Spray_Can_Help_You_Avoid_Traffic_Tickets%3F.html Owen
  12. Yeah, I know somewhere cheaper for the monster cable, etc. I was gonna get a walkie talkie set...maybe that's what I'll do. Owen
  13. $50...I suppose I could keep it for someone's b-day or for Xmas. Owen
  14. I have a gift card from Good Guys (the electronics store), they don't have a single dang thing I want! Is there anywhere I can sell this thing for cash??? Owen
  15. Post the pics in the gallery! Owen
  16. It looks kinda oily cuz I couldn't get a good shot, flash on the camera was too bright. I uploaded some more pix with a little better lighting. http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&album=43 Owen
  17. Saw this on TV the other nite, http://www.garage-pak.com/index.cfm It uses push on fittings and aluminum pipe for leakless air plumbing (maybe can be used for fluids too?) There is no soldering, threading, etc. and they have a two year warranty as well as a 30 day money back gurantee. Looks pretty useful if you don't have a tubing system in place or are gonna move your existing one. Owen
  18. I agree, pointing forward, my guess is you'd only get track and camber changes. That's why I figured projecting the dots onto the floor would be better. You mount the lasers, draw a line or something between the two, then move the suspension and watch if the dots move from the original points. Now the mirrors, that's way too much work for me! It'd probably take me longer to set it up . I seriously think the dial indicators are the way to go. Owen
  19. Yeah, I painted the dash (cap) and will do the center console as well. The difference in color is greater now from the painted items and the black carpet but I like it Owen
  20. TSK TSK lazy lazy! The albums are only one click away! Owen
  21. You're not coming off the wrong way to me I'm just trying to get all the ideas out of my head and then to get feedback from others. I will use dial indicators and I will use the string method we talked about elsewhere. The reason I mentioned my laser pointers is I ordered them cheap from Harbor Freight (4 months ago and they haven't arrived yet!). I think I'll get the dial indicators physically from the store instead of ordering them Owen
  22. This took way longer than expected. But they're done, almost, still need to color sand and buff but I don't have the time right now. Pics are in the user galleries under Owen.
  23. That's why I thought of the plexi, you'll need something to keep the Z in the center of the hole (the black you will cut out). Then lite it up and it will show thru the plexi. Owen
  24. If you wanted the black part to be red, that seems easier than cutting the Z out. But then you'd have to find a way to support the Z. Maybe get some plexiglass, glue the Z onto it and then glue the whole thing to the outer edge of the original emblem? Owen
