  1. I have the Harbor Freight 20 ton one and have used it so many times, even on non car stuff as well. It's definitely one of those things that comes in handy. Owen
  2. Tony, What is the group rate insurance? I'm interested in knowing more. And Van, you're right, change is never easily accepted, especially when our HZ-SCC president calls us ricers We better tread carefully and keep the neon lites to a minimum, otherwise Tim might boot us out! Owen
  3. For those of you interested in starting your own chapters, I suggest you contact other chapter presidents/officers for tips and help as well as certain by-laws we'd like to make uniform across HZ nation, uh, worldwide. These are not strict laws, merely guidelines to follow in order to keep HZ unified and coordinated. Good luck! Owen
  4. Next you'll be having giant ants like in that movie "Them" Owen
  5. I thought the plan was to jack up real estate prices so high that crazies and loonies and thugs will have to move out! Owen
  6. I thought it was the TIM sauce? BTW, the roadside BBQ was great, I'm surprised we got away with it! Owen
  7. "That just plain stinks... " I fully expect it tho! But I (partially) satisfied my most important audience, ME! I'm not doing this to impress ricers or purists. But that doesn't mean I won't let them shoot my car for a magazine article if offered I Still have some cleaning up to do but it's nice just to get out and hang out with other Zs. I always think of it as a big gathering rather than a car show. Owen
  8. Was that ZX yours? I'm not very good with names and faces What was wrong with my lites, I know they're old but I hope they weren't dangling off the bumper As for location, I don't know why they put us there. My guess is that the lesser known groups get put at the end and the more popular ones towards the middle... Owen
  9. Good one! It'll match the ball and chain around Tim's leg! Owen
  10. Quick count of the number of cars.... Owen Tim Van Hanns bastaadz? Joey? ...who else? Owen
  11. Interesting how the stock cross member is used, John C. of Betamotorsports made a brand new one from scratch. Had to notch the stock crossmember if I remember correctly... Just wondering what the pros and cons are for each method. Owen
  12. I hate wasps...really do. Every house I've lived in, they've moved right in as well. And they're mean suckers, I smashed one with my foot and rubbed it around until it sounded like a wet potato chip. After letting my foot off it still tried to come after me! Last hive I've killed I used one of those fluid sprayers that you hook up to your compressor, mixed some laquer thinner and aircraft remover (wanted to keep using this after it was done). I sprayed the mofos and then ran into the house A couple were stuck to the wall but most of them never came back. Owen
  13. I know the Vintage kits fit as a couple of members here have them already. And some of the underdash units are smaller so I'm sure it'll fit. It's the price that makes me cringe... Owen
  14. This is what I was talking about for underdash http://store.ackits.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AMA&Product_Code=10020 then it's just a matter of accessing the control panel. I could put this on the shelf behind the seats! http://store.ackits.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AMA&Product_Code=10085 Owen
  15. After replying to another post in this thread about aftermarket ACs, I again came to the conclsusion that I WANT AC but DON'T WANT to pay that much for it! I figure I can just get the blower and evaporator from Vintage, etc. and source the other parts myself like the junkyard, parts shops, ebay. Is it not worth it to do this? There might even be something in the junkyards that I can swap right in....note- I don't want to use the stock blower location as my ECU and other crap is mounted there. My other choice is...my roll cage bars are blocking the dash vents, so I don't really need the big expensive in dash units. The underdash units with built in vents seem to be a lot cheaper....I don't need the air blowing on certain parts of my body, just need to get the air in the car cooler, that's all. The only ducting I would need to do is for the defrost on the windshield. What do you guys think about my choices? Owen
  16. Also helps if you do a search. MikeKZ and the guy who did the Miata power steering rack both have aftermarket ACs. Check Vintage Air's site for dimensions as there are newer models out now. Owen
  17. You're so lucky! I've only used one twice and have been dreaming about it ever since.... Owen
  18. Well, I guess that makes me the president of the club! Too bad though, please let us know when the magazine comes out. Owen
  19. I'm in awe as usual! Beautiful work! How DO you get everything so clean and finished looking? Primer everything before taking the pix? Owen
  20. Yeah, and then you wait 2 months like I did to finally get your card. In the meantime, I had to call them and demand they turn it back on! Owen
  21. I had to get DirectTV a year or two ago for the same reason. I can't miss my F1! I sent them a nasty email and also made nasty comments about their commentators at the time, saying they sucked. Hundreds of channels and jack shiat to watch...sigh... Owen
