  1. I could've sworn someone used older Mustang hubs, the post was over a year and a half ago. Owen
  2. This should be posted in the Turbos section. For good info, there's a Yahoo's Groups on blow through systems. Do a search on Yahoo under Groups and then sign up to receive their daily emails. Maybe it's called carbureted turbo systems or something. BTW, where in OC are you? Owen
  3. WHICH beast? I don't think either would fit...
  4. That's what I have too. I took the blue bulbs off the city lighte (mini bulbs mounted inside the light) cuz they made the headlights look really blue in the daytime. Didn't want to be pulled over for something like that. I replaced them with standard side marker bulbs and when I use them at night, they are soooo dim they look like the original headlights Owen
  5. For those of you who can't access it, the link says, "backhand welding or dragging angle produces a weld with deep penetration and higher buildup" and "forehandhand welding or pushing angle produces a weld with shallow penetration and light buildup" I've always pulled/dragged in order to see the puddle better.. Owen
  6. DOH! Mine is an Si and it's all surface streets though, in LA-like traffic. Anyway, back to the thread, I know this is gonna be controversial, but it's the older drivers too! They're too damn dangerous, plowing into people in Santa Monica, etc. The other day at lunch I was the 2nd car in the lane at a lite. The next lane over had only one car. This 80+ yr old lady is next to arrive and plows right into the back of the first car. No damage but she didn't even get out to look at her own car. I don't think she even knew she hit him Owen
  7. No, not front wheel drive vs rear wheel drive. A couple of us were talking about pushing vs pulling when welding. It seems that most of us do whatever is comfortable, but I found a picture showing the actual differences in results between these two methods. http://www.hobartwelders.com/mboard/attachment.php?s=&postid=18805 Owen
  8. On the pressure bleeder...I used a similar product, DIY. A garden sprayer (plastic bottle with a hand pump and a hose to spray the liquid-used for spraying pesticides on roses, I guess). A master cyl. cap with a brass fitting, and some clear hose. Total cost was $12. The universal caps sound interesting tho. maybe I'll get one to adapt to my system so that I can do other cars like the Motive does. Owen
  9. NO...I DIDN'T use a Sears hammer. My intention was to smash the welder so I used a QUALITY hammer from somewhere else. SEARS SUX! I can't find the picture of my smashed welder but I know I have a copy at home. My story, Sears welder crapped out, took it in for repair. Needed some cheap part from Taiwan, in the meantime, the Sears people are giving me the runaround, etc. 3 months later got it back and the same night the main powerboard shoots sparks and the damn box starts smoking...Sooo, out comes the hammer! I now have the Hobart 135. Got it at a welding shop for it's reputation and the companies that make it. $400 out the door, with gloves, welding tips, and a couple of rolls of wire. It's a great unit, Jon is right on the voltage settings, but I've had no problems with the sheetmetal or 1/4" thick steel. Naturally I'm using a gas bottle. Owen
  10. Gas is so expensive here in So. Cali that I'm always on the RIGHT! Meaning I drive at the speed limit in the one of the right two lanes and everyone goes flying past me...only to be caught up by me at the next light or offramp. But at least I'm not in the fast lane! 37MPG in my CRX Owen
  11. Mike, I've seen a car with heim joints and round threaded tubing. Like a strut bar, more like those strut tower-to-firewall braces you were selling. It used the same kind of U-shaped brackets too. This car had it mounted up at the headlight buckets. Probably using the bolt holes for the hood hinges. Owen
  12. This was posted a little while back, http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=33925&highlight=yankee
  13. SCottie, What's the weight difference of a 2 rotor turbo with all the accessories vs,oh, an all aluminum chevy? Owen
  14. I was wondering that, is it the horizontally mounted thing in front of the engine? Or is that his AC stuff? Owen
  15. Better than denting the rim or knocking out the alignment!
  16. Just wondering why the air around the tires would be hot? I assume the air would be coming from the air dam, etc. at the front corners of the car and would be cold air. Also, why would you want to vent the air in the fenders into the engine compartment? Wouldn't your side vents take care of all the venting? Owen
  17. Yeah, me too! Either it doesn't fit or I don't want it looking like everyone elses Owen
  18. Whatsa L-88? I did a search on Google and found a lot of crap but no pix. Owen
  19. HAHAHA! Curb finders! I actually have some of those in my garage, thought it would be better to look dorky than to knock my alignment out of whack or damage my wheels! they'll be painted black tho! Owen
  20. Sweet! What kind of air dam is that? I remember when my car was only covered in PPGs DP90 black epoxy primer. Would've been cool to leave it like that Stealth bomber style! Owen
  21. This list is a big hit in our office. I added two to describe some of our own people. 26. Peacock - Someone who, when in a crowd, needs to show how much they know, etc. by talking so much and giving examples from their own life. Much like a peacock that opens it's tail feathers to be the center of attention. 27. Peacrock - Someone who tries to be a Peacock, but no one else is listening/paying attention. But I need help with these...any suggestions? Not necessarily acronyms either. ---- Here from overseas but with no purpose ---- Overpaid because he knows more (about PCs, etc.) than the people who hired him ---- Unprepared Unreliable Full of sh!t Nit-picks miniscule costs but can't see why the company is on the verge of bankruptcy The FLY Someone who flies in to any ongoing conversation and tries intently to become a part of it. Similar to how a fly homes in on crap laying in the grass. ---- Trendy company catch phrases that make something sound sophisticated even though not a damn thing has changed. Example, Associcates, Kick-Off, Going Forward, etc. PDCA A method used to solve a problem even though most People Don't Care Anyway Owen
  22. GT mirrors, the mount to the door is now different from the picture Owen
  23. Yeah, power steering would be cool but not worth it for me. I have 17x9.5 on 245s all around under ZG flares. Z31 hubs and spacers for Toyo 4x4 calipers on the fronts, spacers in the rear. Fender lips have been rolled tho. Owen
