  1. Sweet Arms man and nice job too!
  2. Hey Joshua, Have the same questions as you and quietly researching what might work too. Good luck!
  3. Hey Joshua, I found this photo on this site a while ago. Dad seats in a Z. Have the same questions as you and quietly researching what might work. Good luck!
  4. Joshua, Welder came with everything you stated except the argon bottle. Thanks for those forums info too! I'll need it as started practicing this week doing TIG. This machine is cool and so precise it really shows the mistakes. I'm putting my Z front suspension on hold right now (sigh) to learn TIG. Well it's part of the whole project as welding in the upper camber plates is my end goal.
  5. It is used. Store demo unit has 2 1/2 years of warranty left on it cost of $1400. New they go for $1850.
  6. Now I have to learn how to TIG weld...Yea!
  7. The more I think about it... a 302 would be down right BuZy!
  8. Hey Jaime. You can use these arms on the street. Some might say the caster arm will transfer more vibs into the car. I could really care less. I am after the handling performance and most of all the adjustment options. I asked Dave the owner of Arizona Zcar he said they would be just fine.
  9. The weld in camber plate kits were a $100 per side. Koni struts with adjustable rebound $70 a piece. I'm using 2 1/2 x 8" long 250 lbs/inch springs. Those were let over from before so I will try them first and see what happens. I would think these Konis could handle a stronger spring but I dont know the max spring rate. Control arms $300 per side. Coilover kits $50 per side. The reason behind all of this is get the adjustment, motion and desired ride height just not possible with stock suspension. Here is the website... http://www.arizonazcar.com/ It cost me a ton. And I don't have a lot of money. My girlfriend was pissed!
  10. This just showed up from AZcar today. I have to say this stuff is top notch quality. Next is the LCA relocation mod. Hopefully by the end of the week I will post pics of the K-member completed.
  11. I have the 327. Power is maybe a little soft on the bottom end but it revs fast and high. 6500 rpms plus time and time again without ever a problem. A sweet dependable motor with tons of power. Your 302 would be great too, I have yet to see a Z with one. I'd say go for it! These z cars are so light I know for sure you will not be dissapointed. Someday if you really want to tear it up punch that 302 out to a 383!......hehe. Good luck!
  12. Good Job! You are well on you way! Great MIG welding! Keep it up and post more progress as you continue!
  13. A jag rear end would be so cool in a Z. Inboard discs. I had a 75 XJ6 2 door kinda rusty, tilt front end, a 30 footer. Bye far the best example of women being helpless around a car. hehe! The myth is real.
  14. Interesting read! Though I am not out to change over my half shafts which have held up great so far. True or false...... The qualife units tend to have a stronger lock up characteristic not so ideal for cornering? I'm not drag racing out more for road handling. My diff is open now so when cornering with street tires the inside wheel lifts and spins easy. Not good for an open 2 pinion diff as I have heard the diff gears can fail when subjected to the single wheel spinning situation. So upgrading to 4 pinion clutch style would be much stronger with the addition of some increased traction. Still learning about this as much as I can. Thanks everyone!
  15. Where can i get a new Nismo clutch style LSD for my r-200? Don't yet know if I have the 10 or 12mm ring gear. Thanks!
  16. Would not camber plates give more tire clearance to the outside fender lip? Maybe allow room for that slightly wider tire/rim set up?
  17. That's the way I went. Those hooker headers fit my car almost perfect. Had to remount the hood latch though. MSA sells a bracket for that. Stock hoods and 14 inch air cleaners work out too. Good luck!
  18. Im using the Bob Wier kit too fitting up to an older 327. The quality is exelent and has been dependable. Have yet to replace the stock shifter. The pro 5.0 looks great though.
  19. What about camber plates and tip the strut in more?
  20. Sorry to jump in here but I seek to know the same information. What front spring size to use with coilovers? Here is my spring. 8 inches long, 2.5 I.D., rate 250, wire diameter .423, # of coils 7. Name: Eibach Springs 33/69 0800.250.0275 Drove the car with this spring in a couple of times. It didn't bottom soft but the whole front end was out of whack so it was hard to tell. Maybe someone answer this question for both of us? Thanks!
  21. Ah! Now I see how these things work. Struts removed! I used an oak tree and a CR250 to pull them apart. hehe... Thanks for the advise everyone! It all came apart without a hitch.
