  1. yeah i would not say a Z32 is a great daily, I was just saying that they can fit quite a tall driver. I personally DD my RB20DET 280ZX, it gets great mileage and can go well in the corners too.
  2. I am just over 6' 4" and I can easily drive a Z32. We have one that is just bliss to drive. I have done a 5000 mile road trip in it without any comfort issues.
  3. don't listen to him ^^^ hehe j/k lose all that weight, PS is not needed, AC is a luxury, just give yourself room for bigger manifolds and plumbing, and still be easy to change the oil / belts on.
  4. Nice buy. I would love a nice clean early M3 for a daily, but alas, I am a poor man.
  5. i was DD my 260Z until a dodgey workshop fitted me with a crap wiring job on a new fuel pump, and I have not been arsed to fix it since, so now my RB powered ZX is my daily, and I have bought myself a toyota aristo (twin turbo GS300) for a weekend/drag car. One day i might sell the old 260Z, free up some shed space.
  6. If you never want more than 300rwhp, then by all means go the RB20. But if your like the rest of us, you will be wanting more. I have a 20, i love it to bits, love the revs and the noise. But if i was in it for power, i would have gone with a 25 or a 1JZ or 2JZ.
  7. i Run a EMS 8860 in my RB20DET 280ZX using RB CAS and injectors blah blah blah. have not had a single issue with it. been running 18 months now.
  8. will fit 1 din or 1.5 din, not sure about a 2 din tho. There is heaps of room out the back there.
  9. double post, cant see a delete post option.
  10. congrats, looking forward to pics. I am thinking either a 510 or 1200 wagon as my daily driver. need something other than the RBZX
  11. If i was to do another engine swap right now, it would be to a SR20 in my 260Z.
  12. by castings, he means the block casting and the head casting. Block casting number can be found just above the drivers side engine mount, should be N42 or F54. Cylinder head casting number can be found near the bottom of the head between spark plugs 1 and 2. should read N42 , P90, N47, etc, one letter, followed by 2 numbers.
  13. Good to see it all running and running well, just watched all your videos on youtube.Congrats on all your hard work paying off.
  14. I would SERIOUSLY like one of those kits if/when you complete them. BUT first I am going to look into options of making my own setup, as I prefer the idea of running the SC on the sparkplug side of the motor, then use a FMIC, and standard EFI intake. If by the time you get the kit at the 'ready to order' stage, and I am not started on my build, then I might just take one.
  15. *DROOL* if only i had the funds. i would go with the webber injection 4.6, or the hi-rise 5.4. i reckon some coilovers in the front and scallop the strut towered, and you would be damn close to having it all fit.
  16. yeah i thought it may have been posted before, but i did a quick search and could not find anything. now if only i could get my ZX down to 850kg hehehe
  17. i made mine nice and simple, 90* bend straight down from turbo, and mounted it there, all it needed was a splash shield from the from wheel, and it has not given me one ounce of trouble in the 18 months that i have been RB powered.
  18. Just saw this video. has some 10 sec non-turbo L powered Zs, and a 10 sec NA Z32 plus some others http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wzH30uZy4Q enjoy
  19. now hurry up and get some videos of it in action
  20. from one RB20 powered Z owner to another, congrats, enjoy the drive.
  21. Thats what I was thinking. The Datsun L6 has one of the sexiest notes I have ever heard. *DROOLS*
  22. Look for "F54" cast into the block. crazy idea i know. it will be on the intake/exhaust side just near the engine mount.
  23. reminds me of my S130 when i first got her, i did the same thing, kept the stocko motor while i took care of the body, but it soon made way for an RB20DET. good luck, and enjoy the ride.
  24. have you boxed off the front of the car so any air HAS to go thru the IC + rad? if not the air will just go through any hole it can find with less restriction.
  25. Also could someone tell me what pin height i will need, for both options of using the L28 rods or L24 rods (for the better rod/stroke ratio)
