  1. hahaha, tarmac paintjob, that would be great. some good ideas there too with the fighter style cars.
  2. mine is really loud too, mainly in my case due to a small 'step' in the intake just before the blades that causes alot of turbulence. depending on where you a listening from, from the front, the intake is louder, from behind the exhaust is really loud (3inch straight thru)
  3. i was considering this swap a while ago, but now i think i would rather just drop an RB into the sil, or just keep it stocko so the missus can drive it to (auto licence)
  4. someone needs to find the link to the screensaver for that, was great to watch.
  5. yes they are bringing this law into QLD soon, but thank god those of us already on our Ps can drive whatever we want. There is no way in hell i would be selling my turbo 280ZX
  6. hmm, future plans near future: replace all suspension and brakes with better stuff. New wheels and tyres. HKS GTRS turbo kit - install a cut out on the exhaust for fun days. GTR injectors + tune. further off future: strip interior and get cage made. Then build an S30 with 2JZ or similar
  7. sarcasm? us? on this site? NEVER
  8. mmmm drool and I guess this proves it is not a heavy motor.
  9. YAY for running RB power !!! congrats on getting it started, and i hope you sort out the gauges soon.
  10. that is awesome, would love to take that car for a spin, nice find
  11. hmm, seats must be a 2 seater thing when i had mine completly standard, first things i did was a tune up, but seeing as you have had it a while i think? you hopefully have already done it several times and keep it running well First two actual mods i did was custom intake elbow and a pod filter. Followed by a full 2.25inch exhaust from the stock manifold back. made a small increase, most noticable in throttle response, and a much better sound. My next mod was swapping in a RB20DET, so easy and so smooth. i love it.
  12. YAY for the S130 very clean, what seats are those? look completly different to any of mine
  13. hey mate, if you are going programmable, why not keep the current fuel rail, and go with some GTR injectors, $300 AU will buy a set of 6, and they drop right in the RB20, they are 440cc too.
  14. ooohhhh i love them must have more pics, and any fitment issues.
  15. there is a 180SX, but no such thing as 180ZX Could possibly be a 180SX with the front or rear from one of the ZX's Same thing that is done with Onevias and Sil80s
  16. good to hear its all coming together, keep us updated through the build
  17. dont worry if u try racing someone with it, if they get infront of you, the turbo will just suck them backwards.
  18. well maybe he could once for one dyno pull, but to do it for race after race there is no way.
  19. sounds like you have put alot of thought into it, one thing i would recommend, if the car has been sitting for a while, after you start it and it warms up so the thermostat opens, check radiator level, when i picked up my 280ZX that had been sittin for a while, i didnt check that, i just did oil + plugs + tune up + fuel then drove off so 50km down the road i was overheatin, pulled over, topped it up and off i went, havent had a problem since.
  20. i think the merc engines are the best if you want diesel power, just watch that video, they seem to go alright, and i am sure they wouldnt weigh too much.
  21. that looks great, would you mind posting a video or sound clip so i can see what side pipes sound like on an L6.
  22. those motors can go really well, there are a fair few people running them with nice sized turbos hanging off the side running 10sec 1/4s on street tyres in heavy arsed cars. obviously the have different internals etc, but still impressive.
  23. last article i read on the R33 it was making around 1 MEGAWATT at the tyres, thats a crap load of power. and i will tell you, this thing sounds absolutly amazing, first time i saw it in person was at the Fast Fours Jamboree at willowbank raceway.
  24. hey, i have a RB20DET powered 280ZX. I used a hack-saw to cut through the 280ZX pedal and removed it completly, then i made up a small braket, drilled a hole in the firewall, and mounted the Skyline pedal setup, it was too easy, hardest part was removing the old pedal.
  25. very sturdy motors, jsut watch some of the videos of the cars they have made, those engines are worth every cent.
