  1. Ok, so now my next question: How do I get that nut tight? There's no way to hold the rod short of vise grips (no bueno), and use an impact?
  2. I just measured mine at 25 1/8" From pinion flange to tail housing However, the guy that builds mine needs center on center u joint measurements. So from the center of the pinion flange u joint to the center of the slip yoke (all the way in, and then 1" out) is 20 1/2" - Going to measure it again tonight to be sure. Just adding to the knowledge pool
  3. No replies? I guess I'll start bugging vendors then..... Sigh.
  4. Well stay tuned i just ordered 275-40-17's. If they're just ridiculous, I'll sell them local. Same size camaro guys run.
  5. SO this is a total skull @#$%. Here's the literature that came from ground control, and the stack corresponding Which has the washers on the wrong side according to the post earlier. OR, Do I stack it like the pic above, and find some washers that fit around the strut rod? Pulling my hair out here. Any help?
  6. The brake kit that I bought requires 240 hubs, or machining of my 280 hubs. I'd rather buy. PM me
  7. Well then. My caster is already stock, so I guess I should get to ordering.
  8. Thanks. Now WHY don't they just include that handy little drawing with the rest of the S H I T???? And yes they are ground control.
  9. I do plan on having it dyno'd but i might wait until i put the other engine in it. And yes, I'll get it tuned once i have it finished. Lots to be desired from a stock truck tune.
  10. just like the title says. PM me please
  11. Bump up top for this. The need for tires is becoming very great, so should i just buy a pair of 275's and see if they fit? I'd rather just order everything at once, so i don't have to eat shipping twice. those of you running a 245, what brand / model of tire is it?
  12. Ok, so i have the strut housings sectioned, perches welded on, spacers to make the shock tight yada yada. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to stack the bearings/ washers/ strut isolators (rubber?) nut because i'm clueless. The bearings are much bigger ID than the shock rod - do i need a spacer? Is the bearing supposed to be sandwiched between two washers? I'm a total newb to coilovers, so please take it easy on me. These are for a 78 280z for what thats worth..... Thanks
  13. I'm quite flattered you guys, because I actually feel its kind of rough. If I had a band saw and a couple other misc. tools I feel I could do a better job.
  14. Well I survived spring break (barely) And my camera didn't take kindly to the sand (big surprise there)... So i'm uploading the progress from my mobile. So I installed the exhaust for one final test fit before I painted it, and GUESS who forgot to tighten the front v-bands all the way before welding the whole thing up. THIS GUY. SO I ended up having to make about half a dozen relief cuts to get my tips where I needed them. Got it tacked again, and here's the pics. Now its back out, fully welded, and ready to be prepped for paint. Would have liked to have painted it tonight, but the parts store was closed before i thought about it
  15. be wary of Ebay sellers. Thats where mine came from originally, and it was complete crap.
  16. Oh yeah. Even dynos of the same brand can have 20-40 hp differences. Justafantaz - My buddy sent me pics of your car at last night TX2K12! He's on the 1320 video crew. Too cool man. Glad to see there's a good gain in power.
  17. Dual 3". The other engine I plan on putting in would have been choked by dual 2.5". Here's the rest of it! I got to the shop about 10:30 and JUST finished welding it. Forgot to take any on-car pics, but the fitment is excellent! This afternoon Im headed off to south TX for spring break, so I won't be able to do anything for a week.
  18. UPDATE Finished up school .... until after spring break. So i rewarded myself with an afternoon at the shop. Got my harness finished!!!!!!! and installed. Its come a long way.... From this: To this: I also installed the rear LCA's. Shown here, fresh paint! I worked on my cold air intake. Hows it look? In all seriousness though, i did get it done. Then I went to work on the diff crossmember - clearancing it for my exhuast Started laying in strap... . Done prettyfied Then I worked on my crossver pipe. I was originally going to do an H, but i decided to try my hand at an X. Here's what i got. used two 45* bends, and a chopsaw. The tuck is nice. I wish my fuel tank would get here, so i could finish the rest of the exhaust! That's it and that's all.
  19. Just ran to the shop and checked the pieces i sectioned out of my 78 280z struts They're 48mm ID or 1.8897"
  20. Conversion looks good, but i would have left it black. Its a nice contrast, especially with the black accents on your car.
  21. I'm getting ready to measure for my driveshaft. I was just hoping someone could give me the measurement (center to center on U joints) of the JCI driveshaft, so i could make sure mine is close to that. (SHOULD be the same) Thanks
  22. Gauges were the easy part lol I probably have mmmmmm at the most, 6 hours in the gauges. I used the old gauge cups, dremel'd them out as i read on here, yada yada. OH i almost forgot! I'm almost done with THESE
  23. Been busy busy busy, and most of its not with the car! Here's what I DID get done though. Dash Mounted I had to either rebuild or notch my tranny crossmember to clear my exhaust comfortably, so i notched it. And of course filled it. Started on the exhaust - its gonna tuck up REAL nice Ran out of straight tubing - going to the muffler shop now
  24. Mine have v-bands on them..... however my tunnel is a bit bigger than 240's, and its been massaged for a TH350, and the 6 speed, allowing a little more room.
