  1. i am an engineer, and i'm skeptical... i could see maybe up to 10k...but 25 may be a stretch... it's hard to find a solenoid that can actuate fast enough to offer that sort of response... and the hydraulics would have to move at amazing speeds
  2. Phyxius

    r200

not all zx's came with r200's my '79 had a r180 along with some other models if memory serves me correctly
  3. i looked into this a good bit a while back... I think it would be much simpler to use a rotating valve setup rather than a convential valve... Rotating valve have been proven to flow more, and it would be easier to control... the only problem is sealing the valve effectively.
  4. when i first got my zx, it would never get warm... come to find out it had NO thermostat at all... haha
  5. it will blow in the right direction, but at a reduced rate. Most fans (mainly ones with curved or otherwise shaped blades), including that one, are designed to blow only in one direction, so when you flip it around it's not as effective as it would be when mounted in the original direction. It may not be that much of a difference...and may work fine... just thought I'd throw that out there.
  6. neither of those links seem to work for me... but if you type the keywords into search directly, it works.
  7. I still have some of my clutches if you're interested in puttin more in there... I was really trying to wait until i got some feedback from the guys that have them before I sold any more though... again... i'm sorry I never sold them to you before... I was going through a particularly busy time trying to finish school and all. Now I've graduated and settled in at my job at Cessna, so I have a little more free time.
  8. they supposedly fixed the tranny and transfer case issues they were having with the older models... I hope so, anyway.
  9. Picked her up in Kansas where I'll be moving soon. She's an Evo IX MR. A lot more pics can be found here: http://www.putfile.com/phyxius1/images/63507
  10. I posted a short article about a year agon on how I did the KA tranny swap. If you use the L28 countershaft bearing, you don't have to have the bell housing bored, but you do need to clearance the face on the inside of the housing. As far as electronics go, i'm running megasquirt... I spliced my L28 engine harness into the s13 harness and hooked it all up from there.
  11. nice I'm loving it so far, and I'm still on 7psi... the 3.91 gears are awesome how did you do your motor mounts?
  12. the answer is... of course... and I have... Some of you may have noticed that I've been pretty scarce around here lately.... this is why... To my knowledge, there isn't another swap like this anywhere... If you know of one, please let me know Sorry the pics are crappy, but it was a camera phone at night...
  13. Thanks for the tips guys... After I cleared the cylinders, I actually cranked the engine several times before i realized that the walls could have been washed... it didn't run very long... maybe 20 seconds total... and it was sporadic at that because it was running on what little fuel seeped through the bad injectors while the system was pressurized. (I turned the pump off before cranking) I think I'll just get some WD-40 and give each cylinder a good squirt to be on the safe side... Definitely changing the oil before running it again.
  14. One of my injectors recently stuck open, so that a cylinder was filled with gas... Having heard horror stories about all the oil being washed off the cylinder walls and horrible scoring happening, I was wondering if there was something I could do to relube the walls before I run the engine. My only thought is pouring a capful or so of oil into the cylinder and turning the motor over by hand or something... anyone have any other ideas?
  15. Ok... I got about the best deal I think I am going to be able to find, so I'm going to go ahead and post in the Group Buy forum. I will let it run until next Tuesday and then I will make the order.
  16. I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of laser cutters.... Tryin to find the best deal... You'll know as soon as I know.
  17. I was wondering if any of you guys who've done the swap still have the crossmember from the RB...? If so, I need one! Thanks Joshua
  18. It's not so much a secret... It's just that I don't want to get heckled until I see if it's going to work... lol
  19. I just need a front sump pan and pickup... it doesn't matter if it is LD or not I wasn't aware the other ones came that way. If any of you have or can get a pan and pickup, that would be great. Just let me know how much. I'd rather not divulge my plan until i get a little farther into it
  20. are you guys not interested anymore?
  21. Where can I find one of these and the associated pick-up tube? I've searched the local pick and pulls, but found no LD's. Anyone have one or able to point me in the right direction?
  22. Okay... the stainless is a little more expensive than I anticipated, so I may be going back to high carbon spring steel.
  23. Very nice find. Whenever I see a Z like that I always have to stop and ask about it... lol The usual answer is "It's not for sale, I'm going to fix it up." But I go by from time to time and they never move... sad really.
