  1. Pretty clear images there, I didnt even know you got those!
  2. I used to daily drive this stroker, which I still do occasionally, but it feels slow anymore. Now I drive this daily, Its a bit more fun to drive.
  3. Here is a vid we took after work. I dropped the car about 2900 RPM in first, ten nailed the throttle. Obviously first had no traction, then it hit the rev limitier (7300 RPM) pretty quickly, then I shifted into second, then hit the throttle again, then Second Gear had NO traction. That is with a 245/45/17 Brand new set of tires. This is at 10 PSI. Then I went to the end of the street then tried it again, then BAM, broken half shaft, AHHHHHHHHH. So that is my vid for the day. Just got my boost controller in today, so we will be pushing somewhere between 15-20 PSI on it soon
  4. Man that got there QUICK. Looks like a nice project. Reminds me of mine when I built it.
  5. I need some pads for superlite calipers that wont squeak on the street. Ive had two different compunds in now, and they both squeak under light street breaking. These are on 13" cast iron Rotors by the way. I have BP-10's in there now, and there not as bad as my previous pads but they still squeak.
  6. Who said anything about Z32 turbos????? I have full Twin T3's. There does become a limit on what the output of the motor can be with what cams are in. I already have regrinds, Im just debating when to install them. I will be in the 600 HP range, with or without these cams!
  7. Put it on a flow bench and compare against a stock head.
  8. Guys does porting in huts with grinders, so what does porting ACTUALLY mean???
  9. Im trying to get some comparisons here. What sort of power have guys been making with 25/26's with STOCK cams? What boost level? Which Turbos, etc, and at what RPM is max torque and HP?
  10. THats pretty high, your loosing a fair amount of HP with that sort of pressure.
  11. Your motor probably dies up high, for the no head work, and mild cam, and 9 cr. Really, any long tube header will work for what you want.
  12. If stocks are 3mm which they are, and your valves have been ground as well as the seats, that would make the gap SMALLER, requireing less then 3mm thickness. You say you need .200" I say you have something going wrong there.
  13. I know the DB can be screwed to it, I just disconected it for theft reasons, and didnt screw it back in. This is about the 9th MS car I have done .
  14. I was suprised not to see you at the show John C. Jeff Priddy called me abount noon and said he was trying his best to get off of work, but didnt get a chance to. I was manily impressed about the no water leaks, as that was the main concern with this project. There is no oil in the head except for the first two inches from the front. My electric fan pretty much cant flow enough air for 100 degree heat in traffic backups, as the temp guage starts creaping after about 20 minutes of just sitting there and barely moving, so I will add a pusher also. Valve cover gasket is a oring.
  15. Ok, I just got home. I got 1300 miles of driving with the car, then it breaks down 5 miles from my house, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. After lots of testing, it turns out the DB37 connector fell off the Megasquirt, AHHHHHHHHHHHH. But it ran perfect, just perfect. I have an oil leak, out the valve cover gasket, and out of the front turbo, but other than that perfect. I didnt loose a DROP of water. The show was a blast, I sorta lost count on how many Magazene articles took a story on it, I had a blast. Although I didnt get to walk around the jccs show at all. I raced a couple cars on the way home, which one was a souped up LS400, that thought he was fast, yea no competition. HAHA. I had it to about 145 in 5th gear, pulls pretty hard. Although the wastegate cant pull enough pressure off of the hot side of the turbos as the boost creeps in high gear.
  16. Well I made it 550 straight miles to california, to the JCCS show. Car Crazy of Speed Vision did a interveiw with me about the car, so this motor is going to be on TV, So I thought that was pretty cool. But the reliablity part is there, except for a rusty gas tank.
  17. Why do you think I compared a P90 to a KA head on MY bench, SAME bench.
  18. Actually on my flow bench, the intakes flow 262@28" of water. A stock L series head P90 flows 178. My best port job with radical port re-shaping etc. flows 227. The ex is where you see alot of gain, I cant remember exaclty what it was, but it was quite substantial.
  19. No, I totally agree that time or money shouldnt stop a passion within reasoning. I am just not seeing the reasoning behind this much work. Scanning is quite a bit of work, then modeling, etc. A DOHC head to me is a BIG improovment over any L head, so there is substantial amount of reasoning. If your just doing it for water flow through the block, whats to gain? I am not dissagreeing with you, I am just trying to see the purpose.
  20. A vent tube on each cylinder would take away ANY hot spots in the head. And there are not enough of a difference in hot spots in the block to make a difference. I guess if you have alot of time on your hands and your board it makes sence, but other than that, I dont see how you can benifit. CNC porting on these heads, takes a 5 axis non positional machine. In other words BIG money, and to get one done by a shop with this kind of work, they would charge tripple or better of what a hand porter could do the work for. PLUS, you never get as good as results on small ports such as ours, when compared to a BBC, etc. A 4 axis, B rotation machine would do alot of the profiles anyways.
  21. So what are your plans for the scan? What will it help with?
  22. Remember springs are NOT the same on both ends. One end has more coils then the other, which is the bottom.
  23. Go read what these smart guys are saying. I love how they can critisize when they know NOTHING about internal combustion engines! As someone said on there, "I would of welded up the headbolt holes" Holy geeze. http://www.genmay.com/showthread.php?t=754004
