I got to drive the car again last night to a Z gathering and Joe and myself both drove the ls1 Zs. I am telling you even with the "bigger" wheels......the car still loves to kick out...something I look forward to. =) I really have to get my car back into my garage and give Joe his garage back. I am looking forward to get going on the turbo car but would like to give Joe a solid 3 months hand with his dads car....I will let him tell the details. I have very little updates to do from here on out......I will def post pics of the car when it is "done". Also need to get a tune and new dyno numbers. I would like to thank everyone who commented on this thread and the help I got from local Z guyz when I just didn't feel like working on it anymore. I do owe Joe big time for the "free" rental space!

Yes I am, don't like the look? I am still waiting for blk fender mirrors...someone I know has a set and won't sell them yet. Glad to have the family down! Some of you know our two families have become like extended family. Rags and Cygnusx1, live close enough where I hang out with both a lot......Rags almost everyday Couldn't ask for more for friends and Z pals.

As the title states, I am looking to buy the splash pans most of us take off for our Z cars. It should be on the late built 72 and up s30 cars. Here is a pc of the part I am talking about, the 260 and 280 model are a little different but I am looking to buy those also: Let me know what you guys have. PM me or reply here.

The CF hood and hatch is from raceoneusa and the CF bumpers from MSA and CF flares from Justin. I can say the only part I am not happy with yet is the hatch., still working on it. The hood isn't closed in the picture that you see.

So I drove her! I had to make my clubs last bbq meet for the year so today was now or next year. I have to thank Joe for letting me use his home as my second home and for the help. I wouldn't be able to have the car where it is today if it wasn't for him. Thanks to Dave also for coming to help and hang out when he can. So speedo doesn't work, steering wheel cocked to one side, brakes are low and smelled like fumes...yay glad to be back in the Z!! All minor things as I start to debug her again. 80 miles of just a smile on my face after over 6 months of no Z car. Here she is today: cygnusx1 took the pic More to come..... My 1000th post is to post my Z is back on the road.....wow! Hmmm anyone a beating person...which post # will it be for the turbo car to be on the road...lol

Austin, we have/had the same issues. My first Z had door issues that bothered me all the time. Had to slam the doors 3 to four times to get it to close and pasn side door jam had like 6 spacers, must have been hit before. Lucky for you, your talent level is up there and I def would say buy another shell and do it how you like. When the time is right....swap things over in the order you want to mod then and then sell your shell. I am sure it will sell for decent money as a roller. I can't wait to start my turbo swap on the 70 car because I know I will have something to drive when I don't feel like working on it. This was the first and last summer I didn't have my own Z car on the road. Anyway question about the pic above.....is that paint missing from the air dam? The picture you are doing some 4x4 with the Z =)

Austin we are pretty much the same age and almost same point in life: I have been thinking about selling my car of late also ONLY for the purpose of getting more money for a down payment on a house. Your car is beautiful and like others said, you know it inside and out. If you are not in need of the money, I say keep it and buy another Z when the time is right and make that the 10 yr project. With a house purchase coming soon and maybe a long term gf, a car will take back seat for awhile. ZR8ED said it best, don't be Z-less if you don't have to be.....even though I just remember you own a 350z too. Sell if you have plans for the money ( house ) Keep and buy something else when you have the ( house ) Hope that help.

Nope nope nope.....Joe tells the perfect story.....trailer queens are the best type of Z cars. Gotta get heat in the car before I take it out. Well you guys have such nice cars around here, I just want to be part of the club.

Jeff wiring is coming along....not as bad as I thought it would be. Nice to learn something new! Pic of the car in front of the shop late night: Tucked away the fuel lines, nut and bolted the car, drained trans fluid (2 quarts 2 much), made clearance for the alternator (2 close 2 driver side mount), hooked up reverse lights (huge because all my lights neva worked in the old Z), and drove her on and off the trailer. She is close to be actually taken for more than a 2 min drive.....excited!
