  4. The car is in NYC, The Bronx at my fathers shop. I will invite you up when Vinh gets back to me about coming up next. Hope to have it on the road very soon.
  5. 007MAX you in the Albany area?
  6. Don't worry about it, gave me a chance to really think about how the system works. You did more than I could have asked for that day. Just let me know when you would like to come out. I am planning a get together for Aug 4th and it will kind of be my goodbye to the nyc area because I plan on moving to Buff, Ny for a new job. I picked up the drive shaft so I can have it made this week and I will finish up my version of a q45 front mount. I will also work on the intake/brakes/clutch/and few other things so when you come out next....it will be ready for first drive! Next on the to do list is pick up my parts car! lol Thanks for all the comments so far. Clive
  7. That sounds good, I think we can all cruise to the car show at 6pm. I hope my car is done by then!! lol
  8. We need to keep this thread alive. I just got a job offer yesterday and the first thing we spoke was, ahhh I can't work the first week in Oct! lol So I am going for sure. Rags, which car will you be taking?
  9. Well I have to thank all who has helped me out so far esp....David and Vinh. Anywho, Vinh came out last saturday and spent almost ten hours at my dads shop cleaning up my engine bay harness and my old dash harness. We eliminated all wires that were no longer in use. This is what took up most of the day. When we hooked up the fuel pump and got power to what we needed and started to build fuel pressure......the fpr lines started to leak...also the line coming out of the fuel pump. Duh I didn't use any tape when installing these things. I did the first time and was told I did not need it. I thought I did but maybe because these lines were after the filter I let my brain second the notion and went along. Mistake. Got that problem fixed and got 50psi at the fpr and nothing, no spark. We checked and checked and could not find what was going on. It got late and Vinh had to take off to head back to Philly. For the next two days I checked my Speartech harness and all connections. Then I checked the injectors and coil packs. I already knew this motor ran so the senors "couldn't" be bad. As I sat in the car and kept thinking.....I went to crank the car over and realize the red led light that is a check engine light goes out when I go to crank over. I thought to myself...hmmm..isn't that suppose to stay on....let me call John at Speartech. He confirms the BIGGEST screwup when wiring up the PCM is not giving it a constant 12v source. So I stripped the pink wire and hot wired it to the battery and VROOOOOOM. The biggest smile comes on my face....I call Vinh and David to let them know it started! There are lots of little things to be done but I am gettin closer. I would not be this far without HBZ and certain members going out of their way to help me. So here is a short vid of the car and startup: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2559551d-8fb1-4078-8148-996e00d181f5.htm Pic of Z at the shop Vinh working on the Z Up on the lift Clive
  10. Time--> 2:00 pm I was thinking this would be the best time of the day due to travel for some and I am thinking if anyone has family duties to take care of can take care of them first. Well now that the "hard" part has been taken care of....we will have a three day suggestion part of the thread goingon. Everything will be finalized by friday so speak up now if you would like to see something done.
  11. I will start a new thread tomorrow and have a one week vote session going on to finalize where we will be meeting and from there sort the days events out and a rain day. Thanks
  12. Happy Bday....I tried calling yesterdayand today before I saw the post...lol
  13. OK new idea....everyone post your zip. I will see who has the longest trip from the 3 locations we have in mind. Also with that post, let us know if you plan on driving your z or a car you would not mind taking for a ride. Thanks
  14. This is going well so far....We need to figure out how far people want to travel. I thought maybe we go by the drive to the location we pick....or maybe we meet up and go for a nice cruise to another area. I do like the sound of paintball!!....By next friday we will have this place fig out....so the can the 2 people willing to host please list pros n cons of their spot. I am guessing maybe 10 cars------10-25 people------and maybe some food and a drive......lets start to get this ball moving. Thanks to all who have had some input so far. I am trying to get a few other Z drivers who are not apart of HBZ.....more the better. Clive
  15. I am rusty!!!! Been 3 years! Looks good though.
  16. I think I got it......pics comine soon and then my thought process. Thanks for the pics!
  17. Well since I figured the Convention is roughly 11 weeks away, I thought I would post a thread to start seeing who is going from this region and who may want to ride down in a big group or need a ride. My Z should be road worthy of a trip by that time and I know for sure 1tuffz(Rochester,Ny) and another member from the Z club up his way is making the trip down. We plan on stopping at qwik240z(Maryland) for the night and then make the trip into Daytona from there. I know Vihnzxt (Philly,Pa) said we was planning on driving down also and I believe a friend of his. So to wrap up my thought...I would like anyone who is thinking or know for sure they are making the road trip down to post here and we all can work something out. The more Z's the better! Gives everyone a chance to meet the man or woman behind the user name.
  18. So how does the first weekend in Aug sound? I might have my LS1 z on the road by then. Airjockie your place seems like a great place to hang out. Maybe some of us can meet up and take a drive out there. As the entire group gathers at your place.....maybe go for a drive in your area. Then head back for food/drinks....whatever people want to do. Honestly I have been giving thought on starting an official Z club for the NYC area. Def lots of people and Z's down this way.
  19. Sounds good, later today I will post pics of what I already have. Can't wait to see the "finished" look. P.S. I like the new wheels!!
  20. Thanks Guy, it will help lots. I almost bought them lights....guess not HID's for now cause I can't spend the money on real projectors now.
  21. No but I need 2 new tires for the Z. All that zig zag'n tore up the rear tires! And yes ALWAYS use a full car trailer!
  22. Glad to see this going so well already. I will def keep updating this thread.
  23. Well as some of you know I have hauled quite a few cars around in the past year. From s30's to Camaro's...even 3 cars in 30 hours over a spand of 600 miles! I was nervous towing my first car over a year ago and always took precaution. I do not own my own trailer so I always rented from Uhaul and always got the AutoTransporter (where you try the entire car on), and I have only used a dolly once before for maybe a trip of 80 miles. Ok so last week friday I was very excited to finally tow my Z home after 1 and half years of it being upstate Ny with me in school. Finally got the Ls1/T56 in and loaded up the car and jeep to go home ( 340 miles). The day I was leaving I picked up a dolley from Uhaul said my goodbyes to David's family (1tuffz) which was kind enough to let me stay there for sometime after I was done with school to work on the car and hit the road 11pm. I usually leave at night because I-90 is a 2 lane truck route and is less busy at night. So in my head I find it easier to tow at night with less idiots on the road. 25 mins into the trip I go to change lanes and the trailer starts to sway from side to side at maybe 20 degrees. So I back off the gas and let it settle itself out and pulled over. I double checked everything on the dolly and then locked the steering column and started to drive again. About 20 mins later I make a comment to myself thank God I passed the point where I broke down just three weeks before when I attempted to go home. No more than 25 mins later as I am coming around a sweeping right hand turn, I feel a jerk in the wheel. I am doing about 67 mph and I look up in the rear view and I do not see the Z! I look in my driver side mirror and there is the dolley and Z at a 70 degree angle in reference to the jeep. As I get off the gas, the corner is coming to an end and turns into a straight line.....the dolly and Z snaps back into the other direction pulling the Jeep toward the gaurdrails. I kept my foot out of the gas or brakes and just tried to steer the out of this mess. Then the dolly and Z snap back in the opposite direction pulling the Jeep across two lanes....from there snaps back in the other direction back across the same two lanes almost causing a v-shape to take place. I jumped back on the gas to get the Jeep "ahead" of the trailer. This violent episode to place for maybe a quater mile and finally stopped when I got the Jeep slowed down to about 25 mph on the highway. For maybe 10 seconds there, all that went through my head is, "everyone is going to have to guess what happened." When I pulled over my hand were changing and my legs felt very weak. Trust me I have done lots n lots n lots of stupid things before in a car that the avg person would have been nervous to even think about doing. I walk back and check so see what the hell happened and it was something I did. I did not check my rear control arms to see if they were bolted up correctly and it almost cost me my life maybe. One of the knuckles on the pasn side (front one) backed itself off and cause the rear wheel to toe in completly. So basically the rear was steering itself at 65+ mph. I was able to get the car home the next day with an AutoTransporter from Uhaul almost 19 hours after I left which was only a 5 hour trip to start. Lesson here is to double and triple check everything when doing anything, esp when it comes to cars. Most times when you do something 100 times, it is the 101th time you do it something goes wrong. Also when you feel like you are losing control of your car...the brakes is not the first thing to do. I am pretty sure at that speed and the dolly swaying from side to side..pushing and pulling the Jeep...if I had hit thr brakes....the story would have been a lot differernt. I know this was a lot to read but it might help one person out one day. Clive
