  1. So it has been a year later since the first time we all tried to get together. Hopefully there a few more Z's on the road including my own that can meet up for a day of driving and food. It would be nice for a bucnh of HBZ'rs to meet up who live in the northeast. I was thinking maybe the last weekend of July or first weekend in Aug for us to get together. Basicall 4 weeks from now. We can plan here on this thread.....and pm me your telephone number so I can send an email out to everyone that is coming so we have a good sense of who is who. Doesn't matter what shape your Z is in just bring it out for the day! So lets see how many people can get... I know myself. Cygnusx1, Buzz and Rags will make the even if everyone can get the same weekend free.
  2. I think the post you saw was when I was writing and I got a pm and it refreshed the page. Can you explain a little on "proper" projection lenses..... thats the part the real question is.
  3. Right here...... Basically I wanted to know if anyway has taken these H4 lights from Ebay and stick real HID's in them and will it be safe....I am sure that was pretty clear from my post.
  4. Ok I am looking to get some head lights for the 240 and have a few questions. I have searched but this is for people who have done what I think I can do. Will these lights work http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-Projector-Headlight-Kit_W0QQitemZ330143977166QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33710QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem with a complete HID setup from a Lexus 300rx? I fig since these head lights are setup for "projection" I can stick the real HID's in there and figure a way to seal it up....also I figure these head lights will help me from not blinding on coming traffic. I do like the city lights in these head light units. Any help would help a lot...thanks
  5. Thanks for the info. I just had my q45 front mounts made yesterday...I think I made something that is pretty strong and will post pics when I clean it up and paint the mount. Cygnusx1....I am going to be free later this week so I'll be down for lunch and I might "forget" my wallet again. LOL. Forget your wallet once and no one forgets..... This weeks plan: Finish intake, finish steam tube, assemble axles, get drive shaft made.
  6. So today I am going to make some cardboard templetes and have this guy weld some up for me Monday morning. Is there a certain height/angle the diff should be in relation to the tranny? Thanks guys...
  7. I am going to attempt to have these mounts made on Monday......we shall see how it goes!
  8. Custom 17in three piece Compomotive Wheels.
  9. Trust me I know what you mean......never ending list.
  10. No factory tank with a sump made by a company out in Pa. The are called Renu tanks and the tank looks great!
  11. So since the last post, I took a much needed 2 week vacation from the Z and visited the gf in Va. Did some job searching and looking into grad school also. Came back to NY last week and got some things done on the car. No I am not going to sell the car and yes it will be done this summer. What have I done? The motor and tranny is back in finally and hopefully for the last time. I got my new tires and wheels mounted.....had to get 2000 of an inch taken off the 280z hub so I can get a nice snug fit. AZ brakes install all the way around now. The q45 diff is up into place and just in need of a front mount. After that I will get the drive shaft made...which I am still in need of a steel t56 drive shaft. Got the radiator mounted and now to figure out the cold air intake. I now have the 73 dash harness I need and just need to swap it into my 73 dash. So my next few weeks go like this..... get the q45 front mount made and the axles assembled. Finish the fuel line from the tank to the filter ( new fitting on back order to clean up the look from last post). Take off MM rear control arms and put the 2 nuts in the right place. Ball joints and TC rods. July 21st Vinh is coming out to NYC to wire the car up for me and hopefully we get it started that day!!!!!!!! I will be picking up a parts car and having it sitting right there just incase I need anything plus it is the donor for my black interior. So thanks to all who told me not to give up on the project and 1tuffz for having his car in the same garage that kept me working on my car. Anyone have a t56 drive shaft (steel) pm me. Here are some pics:
