  1. Glad to see you finally got the car running! Can't wait also to see some pics.
  2. LOL! I am from NYC and thinking about moving to NC or VA. I am still up in the air gathering info on NC because my parents are looking to move there within the next year. School system is very important for them because I have a younger sis (13) that has a few more years of school. The "slowness" of the south is something I look forward to and I know the south isn't that "slow" at all.
  3. Hey when you are done I will buy it.....deal?
  4. There is ZCCR a Z club based in Rochester, Ny which I am a part of and there is the club based I believe out of Syracuse. I will get back to you with more info....
  5. John does the clear coat help protect the CF or just give it a nice finish?
  6. ZANY is the name of the club in your area. PM 1tuffz and he can give you more info on how to get in touch with members there and such. Any pics of the Z?
  7. Yeah I did mean the driver side for you. That front end hit does not look to be that hard and the Camaro I bought and the TA 1tuffz bought was hit harder than that so you should be ok.
  8. Yes. They do look really good in person, I think you will like them. If weight does not bother you then I say go for em.
  9. duh!!!!!!! Nevermind my stupid question. I didn't even realize from the picture it was not wide enough.....thanks Bartman. Clive
  10. I don't understand something hopefully you can fix that..lol. When the CF panels are produced they come one piece then they are cut in halfs and the tail lights dimensions cut out? Why doesn't it stay one piece and have the tail lights cut out or is there something I am missing? Also you did say he can sell it just as it is then left up to us to cut out "custom" lights for those who have changed from the stock 240z......so I am wondering if I could just get it in one piece and cut out the 240z lights so it wouldn't be a two piece. Do you know how to cut CF.....and will it crack? I have no hands on skill with CF. Anyway thanks again for posting this.....they look great!
  11. Those seats are very heavy. Friend of mine was giving me a set last year to put in the Z and when I went to pick it up.......DAYUM!!!! LOL. Also like Sparks280zxt said S2000 seats go for some dollars. RSX seats do like nice though.
  12. I would check the pasn side engine mount to see if it has moved any. Are you buying the entire car or just a pull out? When I bought a 98 TA that hit a tree head on.....I found 2 very small stress cracks on the block. Everyone here at HBZ said it was an easy fix and another member here who has a LS2 in his Miata said his motor had almost the same exact crack. Also with the car tweeked like that, check the tranny cross memeber and where the input is for the driveshaft. Another thing to check which may sound weird but check the rearend for any signs of a crack. The 98 TA hit the tree so hard that it cracked the rearend case. Hope this helps. Also does the motor run?
  13. 83 zxt....I would like the head light covers if they are both in good shape.
  14. Yeah I could not believe the tranny went.....next week I will call the dealer and find out exactly what went wrong. This is the second Jeep my parents have owned that the tranny started to go or went. My dad give this Jeep about another 5-10k and we will get rid of it.
  15. I think there are pics somewhere else on the site of that exact car....recently in a thread in the body kit section. Good luck.
  16. Well not the motor but the tranny. This comes about 2 weeks after I posted a thread about all the towing I have done in the past year! So of course my mother started to blame me and the Z's.....lol. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122181I was on my way home from Rochester, Ny when I felt a BANG in the drivetrain then watch the rpms rocket to redline. I pulled over and the jeep had went into safe mode only allowing it to shift into 2nd gear. This left me about 4 hours away from home and it was noon. Long story short didn't get home till 1am NYC after taking the bus home. Dealer says should have the Jeep fixed by next week. Jeep only has 40K for mileage and had good fluids....O well.
  17. Car envy.....Mike the car looks great. Very close to what my original plan was for the Z. Thinking of keeping the silver with the Subtle kit and whale tail. I will have that hood though! Keep this pics coming.
  18. Those look great! Since I have been around this will be the third try on getting CF panels done. I want a set of them and will be on the first list ready to buy! More pics please...=) I think I see that it is 2 CF ends with the stock panel in the middle.....am I correct? Thanks again
  19. I saw that car on criagslist....then Ebay...started from $1500 and now I guess they are down to $700. That is def a $100 parts car because it will cost money to tow it away? Are you still looking for a Z? Also did you go see this Z in person? Clive
  20. That is sweet.....I was thinking I would pick up a cheap 280zxt for a daily driver because I am tired of driving my mother gas pig...Hemi. Nice find
  21. Dave the car sounds great. Did you end up taking it for a ride? I will be around in 2 weeks so I will def come by and check it out. Clean work and great install.
  22. That may be true but I am 99% sure ALL 260z are titled as 1974 cars. Also the 260z carry its own vin RLS30 which none of the 240z carry. So when I say ALL 260z are 1974 cars that what I meant. Everyone knows not all year models are made in the same exact year meaning a 1973 240z does not only have production dates from 1.1.73-12.31.73 Hopes this info helps and thanks MatMan because it was new info to me also to see they were made that early in '73. Should be the exact reason for the small bumpers on the "early" 260s.
  23. You guys are right and thanks for the words of advice........I will post a month from now and give an update on what is going on.
