I got inside the housing as far as I could reach also. I drove the car on the streets and it looks like its fixed the problem. I have not been on the highway yet. That will be tomorrow on the way to work. YES its my daily driver. I have a HEMI but when ever I drive that all I can think about is how that HEMI would feel in the Z.
Thanks to the thread from thumper about boost creap with his holset turbo. I read the thread several times waiting for the day when I could try it. Well today was the day! I put silicone on the "puck" so I could see how much of the hole it coverd I broke off 2 bolts in the process also but was able to weld an old allen wrench to the tips of them but could only get one out. Also found a hair line crack in the turbo housing but who cares I'm going to start shopping junck yards again for a bigger one.
I've got stock ecu and bigger injectors. all I did was tighten the spring on the flapper in the AFM. Thats probly the same idea. The ecu thinks it getting less air
I was in the middle of sanding on the car also so any specs might be from lying them on the fender with bondo dust? I made another run down the road with the .32 gap on the ngk's and it felt good untill one of my I/C clamped joints blew off. Maybe thats where the sputtering is coming from? leaky I/C piping? Hell I don't know, seems like it runs great for a week or two then I have to jack with somthing.
You know that might be my problem. My thinking was to open the gap to make a bigger spark but mabe I went to much .43-.45ish I'll gap the new ones to .32 I put them in but have not started it yet. I'm eating now (and typing)
My car is starting to sputter again in boost, am I to rich? I just bought another set of plugs. This time NGK V power bpr6eyes-11? I think I can look for sure if need be
Whats funny is I only bought the little goggles and a darker glass for mig welding. and now my cheeks and my noes are burned:icon11: I am going to get the full shield before I turn that bottle of Argon on again:tongue:
I love having a welder!! weled up supports for my leather 300zx seat, power everything! Shaved the side marker lights, and cut my Eclipse BOV from its stock 1.75 inch pipe and welded it to some 2.5 inch pipe. Look MOM I'm welding!
I was, and kinda' still am having trouble with this but I thought it was because I'm using a stock non adjustable eclipse bov. when I first put it in it sucked air just at idle, so I did what any good mechanic should do. I grabbed a big hammer and smacked the top of it to crush the spring down! It feels better but on the highway I think she is leaking. I also cut it off the stock 1.75 inch pipe and welded it to a 2.5 inch pipe.

OK thanks I just got the word that I can spend some of MY money on MYSELF for my birthday... oh if I were single! anyway I'm going to this place in Dallas that has wrecked big trucks. they had a small npr IC a couple months ago, so they might have a big one now. If not, I'll get one off e-bay.
You mean the npr is better than the starion right? Today (April 1st) is my birthday so i'm trying to get something i really want....a big a$$ intercooler.
