  1. Someone who's a member at Ratsun please post this over there. I just didn't want to join another forum to post this one ad.

  3. Marriage is like a deck of cards……………. In the beginning it’s all Hearts and Diamonds but by the end you just want a Club and a Spade! The wife came home early and found her husband in their bedroom making love to a very attractive young woman and she was somewhat upset. 'You are a disrespectful pig!' she cried. 'How dare you do this to me -- a faithful wife, the mother of your children! I'm leaving you. I want a divorce right away!' And the husband replied, 'Hang on just a minute love so at least I can tell you what happened.' 'Fine, go ahead,' she sobbed,' but they'll be the last words you'll say to me!' And the husband began -- 'Well, I was getting into the car to drive home, and this young lady here asked me for a lift. She looked so down and out and defenseless that I took pity on her and let her into the car. I noticed that she was very thin, not well dressed and very dirty. She told me that she hadn't eaten for three days. So, in my compassion, I brought her home and warmed up the enchiladas I made for you last night, the ones you wouldn't eat because you're afraid you'll put on weight. The poor thing devoured them in moments. Since she needed a good clean-up, I suggested a shower, and while she was doing that, I noticed her clothes were dirty and full of holes, so I threw them away. Then, as she needed clothes, I gave her the designer jeans that you have had for a few years, but don't wear because you say they are too tight. I also gave her the underwear that was your anniversary present, which you don't wear because I don't have good taste. I found the sexy blouse my sister gave you for Christmas that you don't wear just to annoy her, and I also donated those boots you bought at the expensive boutique and don't wear because someone at work has a pair the same.' The husband took a quick breath and continued - 'She was so grateful for my understanding and help that as I walked her to the door, she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said, 'Please ... Do you have anything else that your wife doesn't use?'
  4. L-88 Scoop avaiable @ UP22.com for $79.50 plus shipping or a slightly smaller version for $10 more http://www.up22.com/scoopw3.htm#PR-19. I got a scoop from them for my 73'Z, the price was right and I've yet to see widely used on the Z's.

  6. Offering a little hope. The largest construction project in the country is only a couple of hundred miles from you. Our local economy is booming and a big part of that is thanks to the Hanford Vitrification Plant and the 2 Billion dollars of extra stimulus funding beyond the annually allocated 1.5-2.2 billion dollars. Unemployment is 5.5%ish and pay is good. http://www.hanfordvitplant.com/careers/opportunities/'>http://www.hanfordvitplant.com/careers/opportunities/ http://www.hanfordvitplant.com Vista Engineering http://www.vistaengr.com does a lot of engineer work at Hanford.

  12. We all got together and crashed their site so you'd come back to HybridZ world!
  13. Dr Hunt, Thank You! I'm not gonna get hurt on the deal even at $300, just need to turn them into some cash. Also I've already got a PM about the 461X heads in the background . Between those two sets of heads I should have some cash to play with. Thanks again. Larry
  14. I've got to sell this set of SBC Aftermarket heads to finance a set of headers for my 260Z 400 small block project, but I want to cleanly identify what I've got. Here's what I know: 2.02/1.60" new valves, fresh valve job, cast for screw in studs & guideplates. Here's what I think I know: Produced in the early to mid 90's; 64cc chambers, World Products or Dart heads. I've tried looking at numerous Ebay adds to identify a match but I' haven't found a match & I'm concerned that repeating information in an Ebay ad could just be a continuation of misinformation, so I'm asking the pro's here at HybridZ. What have I got? Hopefully not the SR Torkers. What might they be worth?

  16. This happened basically in my backyard, about 20 miles from my house. Nice to know there is a local stretch of road capable of supporting 250mph speeds, just in case I feel the urge. Think what you will of the design, but 255mph on a local county road is pretty impressive. http://www.shelbysupercars.com/press.php#speed http://www.tri-cityherald.com/tch/local/story/9301484p-9215967c.html Tri-City Herald West Richland supercar sets land speed record Published Friday, September 14th, 2007 JOHN TRUMBO HERALD STAFF WRITER Zoooooooom! What was that? A Ferrari, a Bugatti, a Lamborghini? No, at a blurring speed of more than 255 mph, it was West Richland resident Jerod Shelby's Ultimate Aero, a two-seater supercar designed and built to go faster than any other street-legal automobile. And it was running Thursday on a four-mile section of Highway 221 just south of Sellards Road between Prosser and Paterson. In doing so, Shelby's Ultimate Aero hit speeds that he expects to be certified as a Guinness World Records land speed record for production cars -- breaking the 2-year-old record of 253 mph set by a Bugatti Veyron. Police and road crews -- paid for by Shelby -- stood by for a road closure so the test could be done. The test, which had to be specially arranged with the state Department of Transportation for the road closure, confirmed what Shelby believed -- that the Ultimate Aero has the horsepower and genius of design to be the world's fastest production car. "Today was an amazing day," said Shelby after the 387-cubic-inch, 1,183-horsepower, twin turbo-enhanced vehicle did its stuff. Driver Chuck Bigelow piloted the Ultimate Aero twice on the two-lane straightaway, reaching 257.11 mph heading south, then 254.55 mph on the same stretch going north. The official average top speed for the two runs was 255.83 mph Guinness requires that a speed test be done in two directions within one hour to correct for any head- or tail-wind variables, or hills on the course. Shelby also had to have two independent observers approved by Guinness to take notes about the speed test. His observers were two former Tri-Citians of the year, Calvin Dudney and Dean Strawn. "We have to write a statement of what we saw and include information we gathered about the car, its serial numbers and the GPS (used to measure the speed) and send it in," Dudney said. "The neatest part about this is there are local people in the Tri-Cities who have skills and talent and can build stuff that is the best in the world. It's fun. I'm so excited for Jerod. He's doing something that would put this place on the map," Dudney said. Shelby and his family members, including a brother and his parents, have been working for six years to achieve the goal reached Thursday. Breaking the Bugatti Veyron's record should catapult the Ultimate Aero into the public eye as the fastest street-legal car money can buy. Shelby also likes to note that his made-in-America Ultimate Aero is priced at only $549,000, while the foreign-made Bugatti Veyron goes for $1.5 million. Thursday's dash was a calculated success. "We've been testing for six months with test sessions in Nevada and Washington," Shelby said. A test in Nevada to check the six-speed transmission and driveline for safety and security turned 241 mph and showed every promise that the Ultimate Aero would deliver what its 250 mph speedometer promised. "It was very important to me to prove out the safety and stability for these type of speeds. We were very confident this go-around," Shelby said. "I've done some stock car racing and got to do the Winston Cup in 1988 and 1989, but this is a whole new level," Dudney said. Measuring the top speed of a supercar like the Ultimate Aero requires high-tech systems, and Shelby had some of the best available. A Dewetron system that uses nine satellites in a GPS configuration pinpointed the car's progress to within a one-thousandth of a second, Shelby said. "This is a culmination of the past five years. It is a very monumental milestone in the company," Shelby said. He expects that the Shelby SuperCars marketing team will be trumpeting the accomplishment as a national story on CNN and Fox News, among others. The Ultimate Aero already has turned heads in Forbes magazine and in automotive trade publications such as MotorTrend. "To get a customer to spend half a million dollars on a car, you have to be known. You have to have a household name," Shelby said. He's betting the Guinness World Records label will get him that coveted name. Shelby's Ultimate Aero and its first-generation sibling, the Aero, are available only in Las Vegas at the only authorized U.S. dealer. But Shelby plans to have a second dealership soon, in Dubai, near Saudi Arabia. He's taking his muscular supercars to an international auto show in Dubai in the second week of November. So far, Shelby said he has delivered seven of his Aero line to customers, and has orders for 25 more. The Ultimate Aero and Aero are assembled at the Shelby SuperCars shop in West Richland, but the family-owned business also has manufacturing sites in Auburn and Phoenix. For more information about Shelby and the cars, go to http://www.shelbysupercars.com. The site includes a video of one of the car's speed runs.

  19. .Ken, Sorry about the crash. I got to see ya run a couple of other times Saturday afternoon outside the fence, but now I'm really kicking myself that I didn't take you up on the offer for a ride prior to your new no-passanger policy. As you know I've still got some donor parts so let me know what you need and they are yours.
  20. This question and answers will be applied to my 74 260 406/th400 street/strip car but for now apply to my 67 Chevelle 454/th400 with a Holley 780 VS. I'm Installing a vacuum for carb tuning purposes among other benefits. Route separately or tie into existing vacuum line? That is the question. A clean and easy install would be tapping into the steel brake vacuum line adjacent to the firewall and prior to the vacuum canister. Would the vacuum signal be a little slow/lazy or moderated by the larger [1/2†vs. 1/8†or 1/4â€] diameter line? As proposed would applying the brake affect the vacuum signal to the gauge? Don’t want that. I want to monitor engine/manifold vacuum not brake line vacuum. Is the vacuum signal to a gauge unaffected by other connections along the same line? THANKS in advance.
  21. Yes, I've done several searches [even Grumpyvette specific] prior to posting w/o luck. It's time for a spring tune and conflicting sales pitches from various plug wire venders has lead me to the HybridZ community for opinions. Resistance per foot 40, 50, 150; size 8mm, 8.5mm 10.4mm [bigger was pushed as better years back but now quality or quanity?], material, yadda, yadda. Relevant engine data: 454, 10.2:1 compression, Mallory Unilite, MSD 6AL box, MSD Blaster 2 coil, headers Vehicle use: Street/Strip so radio interferance is an issue. I'll use these opinions for the 406 in my 260Z once it's up and running, so this really is a HybridZ question, but with initial application in my Chevelle. No specific budget, but I don't want to waste money buying marketing hype. WHAT Spark Plug Wires would you recommend? THANK YOU

  23. I'm just about done parting out a 77 280Z and I was suprised with the results and I let some good parts go cheap. My neighbor claimed the R200 and clutch pedals for his project at not cost and a fellow HybridZ member got the front cross member and rear stub axles at no cost then I sold the following: Hood $30, Hood vents $20, Fender $25, Headlight buckets $25 & $10, Door panels $20, Window regulators $22 & $16, Gas tank $10, Engine $150 minus the fuel injection, Driveline $20, Rear drums [to a 510 owner] $20, grill $76, tailights $40, Gauges $25 = $500+ [your results may vary] We had many calls about the trans and I believe if it was a 5-speed I could have got $75-$100. Ebay & Craigslist were great, Ebay for the small stuff and Craigslist for the bulky items. Beyond the profit [provided I put no value on my time] I was able to dismantle a Z and I learned quite a bit which should help on my 260 project. Provided you have a little space and an understanding wife/gf and your landlord won't freak out - go fot it!
  24. Purchased an early 260Z in 1996, drove it home about 4 miles [burning oil ALL the way] and removed the drivetrain for a V-8 406SBC/TH400 swap for drag racing. That’s the only time it moved under it’s own power. It's still a shell but it's time has finally come to receive attention. I did acquire various engine parts [3 different 400 small blocks], aftermarket heads, 2 TH400’s, a 3.90:1 R-200,and a 3.36:1 R-200, CV's, disc brake rearend [thank’s Scottie GNZ] and an aftermarket wiring kit over the years. Now I’m at the point of “some assembly required”
