  1. The auto is probably giving you the low hp number you've listed. I ran a stock internals L28 built to SCCA IT specs (9 to 1 CR) with SUs. 185 hp on the engine dyno and 163 at the wheels. I know of a couple L24s built to the same IT specs with 9.5 to 1 CR and they made 208hp on the engine dyno. Again, stock internals (pistons, cam, etc.) on SUs. Just hundreds of hours in labor making sure everything was perfect inside the engine.
  2. So the follwing are out: Any "B" series 911S (1969 through 1973) 1973 and 1974 Carerra RS Really?
  3. Driver or car? They can actually do very well on a race track: This guy is a bit wimpy (typical street Ferrari driver) but I didn't see anything bad from the car. I would have to shoot most of these Vintage drivers - they just cruise down the center of the track. 'Course, there is a shining example of why you probably should keep the Datsun.
  4. Yes. Rust is a big issue even for California cars. Is it a steel or fiberglass car? Yes. Maintenance is a constant issue and requires a few special tools which are available. No. One big issue for these cars is the driving position. Typical old school Italian requiring long arms and short legs.
  5. Very common problem on motorhomes and trailers. I just replaced my car trailer tires because they were 6 years old. Plenty of tread left but you could just start to see the little tread separation cracks forming. My 2004 motorhome tires are about due which is going to be expensive.
  6. Since the computer created to determine the ultimate question was destroyed five minutes before it was to produce the ultimate question (after running for 10 million years - 5 minutes), the pan dimensional creatures that were running the computer (mice) made up the question to keep from being embarrassed. The question they produced was: "How many roads must a man walk down?"
  7. No part number listed on the price sheets for the L6 3.1 kit.
  8. The RB 3.0 stroker kit MSRP is: $21,190.00 The RB 31.5 stroker kit MSRP is: $22,290.00 I can discount that if you're really interested.
  9. 1. Get a copy of the factory service manual for your car. 2. Set the brake pedal height per the FSM. 3. Adjust the booster pushrod per the FSM. 4. Make sure you connected front and rear brakes to the correct ports on the MC. There's a big difference and just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Something isn't poorly engineered or bad just because you can't understand it.
  10. Look at the top post in this thread. I'm going to start making a list of folks interested in purchasing these side axles. No money up front. I'll make a production run and then offer the parts tot he people on the list in the order that the names are posted. If you don't see your name on the list, send me a PM or an e-mail.
  11. The unit is for the 12mm ring gear bolts so you'll need to source some spacers for a 10mm bolt ring gear. Send me an e-mail for the price quote.
  12. That's a pretty good estimate. I usually estimate $600 to $800 per side but that doesn't include seat mounts. I've never rebuilt or installed new OEM style seat mounts in the pans I've done. Customers have always asked for something custom to fit their non-stock replacement seats.
  13. Well, I've sold probably five of these to S30 guys running R200s. They have been available from OS Giken for at least a year. I'm an OS Giken dealer if you're interested.
  14. I think I've sourced 100 of the correct Nissan studs. At least my credit card has been charged, I have yet to see them all arrive. In the pic above I installed 8 news ones for the testing.
  15. Some installation pictures from the person testing the side axles: WRX STi R180 is on the right. The CLSD inside the STi R180. Side axles installed. Notice the front diff mount. Let's see how long that front crossmember lasts now that both wheels get traction... Old vs. new.
