  1. Not much, especially with the engines that have aluminum heads--we are talking a very very little bit of weight gain on only the front wheels. There will be a moderate gain of 150 lbs (?) overall if I remember correctly, maybe less. I'm too lazy to look it up right now, sorry. JTR book includes that stuff--buy it. Davy
  2. Gosh, I thought it was pronounced "Laan-chuh" but I could be wrong Dan, we had a couple of Lancia Beta Coupes when I was younger...only one of them ever ran. They are cool cars, have very very nice materials and craftmanship (IMO), but they are finicky like you said and prices for parts are just stupid. Ours had some overheating and clutch issues, but I think everything else, including the electricals, worked fairly well. If you want "different" do a V8 Porsche or Triumph. Or, you could buy an older Lotus Esprit and do an LS1 swap with a Porsche 930 transaxle. ...on second thought, do a 280ZX for your next conversion! Davy
  3. Looking forward to the next issue!! Davy
  4. Glad you are still around, Al! And, I'm even happier to hear that your son will be around W/O anymore chemo!!!!!!!!!!! You're right: that is certainly one thing (among many) to be thankful for this season. Keep checking in on us once in a while! Davy
  5. John, a clueless person (yours truly) just erased your post announcing your website--I clicked the "edit" button instead of the "quote" button or whatever. I sincerely apologize for that. I cannot repair the post as you know, so I humbly ask you to go back and put the website on there and such. I wanted to congratulate you on the new site, but FUBARed that post up bad. Davy PS--should my moderator privileges be revoked?!? I'll just spank myself instead
  6. Mmmmm *lust* that Nismo one would compliment the new Momo wheel I just bought. Price scares me, but for titanium.... Davy
  7. http://acer-access.com/~richer@acer-access.com/pages/ Paul did a T-Bird rack, which is probably similar(?) to a Mustang rack. I don't know Fords...or Datsuns for that matter Davy
  8. Wow--Pete you deserve credit for a great looking car, that's for sure! Now about people making money from your car, well... Remember the kid on the ricer forums who used a picture of your car to show them, saying that it was his? It is laughable when they are found out. I'd like ot see your car in Sport Z magazine!! Davy
  9. Congrats! Nice to work for a company that appreciates you. Sweet raise Davy
  10. There is a serial number along the top part of the block in the back where the bellhousing bolts to the block. Take down the number and look it up on the mortec.com site (I think I got that right). This is for 'older blocks.' This, however, may not work with the LS1 engine, which is what I think you have. For those engines, maybe someone else can shed some light on the topic. Davy

    M3 mirrors

Same ones I want to mount on my car. I have looked over several of the ricer models and I want the kind that mount/attach to a bracket between the door and widow frame, not the top of the door. Pete Paraska mounted Tercel mirrors this way, but I want something a bit different looking. Trouble is, it becomes more expensive the more things I want to change... Davy
  12. No doubt it will be! When my friend Auxilary rebuilt the suspension in his car, I was amazed at how great the transformation felt from the original sloppy feel of original components. Tell us about it when you finish!! Davy
  13. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27138 Just poke around the forum and use the 'search' function. There is nothing but info here--that's why the forum was created! Most of your questions will have been answered, so take your time and download the info you need. Visit members sites and buy the JTR book. Welcome to the board! Davy
  14. Tim, just what did you do to affix the mesh to the back of the airdam? Epoxy putty? Metal tabs w/screws epoxied to the back of airdam? Inquiring minds want to know Davy
  15. Ron, there is no BBC kit for the Z. I suggest you use the search function and get as much info from the other BBC members as possible. You might want to email them too. Welcome to the board! Davy

    I am GURU

Man, you have been holding out on us---beautiful engine work, David! The car is looking better then ever Have fun spinning your wheels!!!! Davy
  17. Welcome gals! Nice to have some women posting--'bout time! Donna is cool and she does post occassionally--knows her stuff and works in a body shop too. Davy
  18. Congrats on doing an absolutely SUPER job on that thing. Excellent looking body work and paint....now just to see it under some very good light to get the metallic & color effect Davy
  19. It sounds like Garry is trying to do a Scarab-style mount in his car. If I had a scanner, I could scan in the dimensions for the JTR plates and email them to him. Anybody have a scanner & JTR book? Buying the manual in his neck of the woods may be a wee bit expensive. Davy
  20. Mike, from everything I have read, 400 hp to 450 hp is what the books and the majority of experts are telling me. I have read about numbers higher then that, but I feel strange about recommending that... Davy
  21. Joe, the reason they are suggested is that they have the configuration that works on the Z car crossmember for the JTR conversion. There is a center bolt hole in the mount that ties into the crossmember via a bolt. Other Chevy mounts do not have this configuration that I am aware of. BTW, the aftermarket does make polyurethane (Prothane for example) mounts like this. Check Summit Racing if you are interested. Davy
  22. Basically, there are a ton of guys out here with turbo swaps, V8 swaps, and soon to be rotary swaps. We'll have a get together again so be on the look out for it in the Announcement Forum. Keep in mind it may be next Spring though. Davy
  23. Guys, since Paypal was used, if the description for items in the payment was for ebay goods, he can leave negative feedback. Juan, it's time to blow off this guy and forget about him. Don't lose even more money on this deal because even if you refund his money, he can still try to screw you through negative feedback. I wouldn't trust him. Davy
