  2. Too funny! Too bad it was a Nissan... Davy
  3. Ohhhh......that was simply very very disturbing and sick. I'm not sure how those guys that find the body deal with that kind of thing. Ewww. Davy

    JTR??

http://www.jagsthatrun.com Buy the book! Go to http://www.zhome.com for info on Scarabs. Note that the JTR kit is NOT a Scarab kit--they are two different animals. I prefer JTR hands down. Davy
  5. LT1 & 700R4 (used) swap and a shot of nitrous--he'll be there easily! Davy
  6. G, Did you use John's Cars kit for the TR7? That was what I was going to build until reality hit me: I could see the BIG potential of the V8 Z and knew it was the way to go. Bye bye went the TR7. Davy
  7. Man, Spotfitz has not been on the board for at least, what..a year or so? Hopefully he'll come back and share the love (and his experience in the LS1Z). Davy
  8. I think he means the stuff Eastwood sells: "Original Spatter-Color Trunk Paint" it looks good and would do well for an engine bay too. But, you have to cover it with clear. Davy
  9. That would be very buzzy on the freeway but would make a good drag car. A 700R4 would be a better choice and it could still launch well. Davy
  10. Disgusting! Not one bit of dirt on there... I am truly disappointed Davy Juuuust kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Stuff

Well, if you are going to have that much power, you might want to consider doing a tube chassis. You could even keep the same suspension up front if you wanted to and do ANYTHING out back. Just a thought. S&W and Chris Alston(?) Chassis Works has the kit... Davy
  12. Well DUH...I have a whole set of those things and never used them for that! Stupid stupid stupid--I just used a needle nosed pliers (not the best tool for the job) with great frustration, but I did manage to get it done. Thanks for the reminder DCarrow!!!!! Davy
  13. Gene, welcome to the site (formally) and we are glad you stopped lurking. The JTR kit applies to Z's only, but MSA does have a kit for the ZX. However, if you are handy, you can fab your own mounts, etc for your car. Have you seen Dave Greimann's site? Also Ross Corrigan of http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php also has a ZX V8 conversion. I'm not sure if the search function is working, but you know the drill after lurking for as long as you have--hopefully you have been downloading pertinent info into a file. Davy
  14. So you want to brag about having a small cubic inch motor like the 327??? Shoot, if that is the case, go 283 or smaller for that 'exotic' apeal, but you'll be slower and wondering how the L6 guy just ran you. I'm not trying to beat you up, but you need to David Vizard's book on building the small block Chevy on a budget. He has some great info on why you go as big as possible. Your 400 ci engine idea is right on track though but they are getting more difficult to find from my own experience. I'd love a good 400 block to start with too. Since I had trouble finding one, I went 350, which is a venerable motor, and can easily be made into a 383 like Mikelly mentioned. It all costs money, but you have to decide how fast you want to go. Davy
  15. http://www.sportzmagazine.com Try the link above and that should get you there Davy
  16. I hate to say it, but I only look for articles or cars that interest me...and this issue (for me) was a downer. No notable HybridZ's to speak of. Still, it is the only magazine that has our Z interest at heart, so DO NOT cancel a subscription! The mag deserves our continued support and we will certainly see great cars in there! We promise Davy
  17. I would certainly go look at it. If it is in decent shape, it may be a great buy. Check to see if everything works. Windshield wipers not working could be a fuse...or it could be a major short...or.... Rust is the main issue with the cars--check the frame rails & poke at them with an awl or icepick. Make sure the car does not have a salvage title, otherwise it is worth even less. Davy
  18. Seeing that the thread was from over two years ago, I don't think he'll reply....but I could be wrong Davy
  19. 16" x 8" CCWs although they are not mounted. They are the wrong offset (too much negative) and could be at least one inch wider!! Davy
  20. It should connect right to your cigarette lighter! I would try Harbor Freight tools and Radio Shack first, then do a search on the world wide web... Davy
  21. David, I'm sure you didn't mean anything by your comment...but it is insulting and unnecessary. Remember that it is not the Canadians who are "yellow," just the Americans who ran up there to escape the draft!!!! Davy
