Wait, I missed something. How did you 'lose' the other two cranks? The SCAT unit is a pretty good deal for only $200; not forged, but still... Davy

Song sounded great and I liked it, but it did last a little bit too long. He can make it!!! Davy

GOOD JOB!!! Think about those job offers, even if you have to move! Davy

You know, that is not such a bad idea, John. I'm sure he would love to get some mail from time to time, and I am positive he would write back--he's got nothing but time on his hands at this point. Certain prisons only let you have a few pages at a time, not a whole book or magazine. Incarceration does horrible things to your morale, not to mention what the inmates can do...He needs to keep his mind active and 'make the most' of his time there. Not doing anything at all would be the biggest mistake. Davy -
...and what are you planning on doing to the little stinker? 327??? BTW, welcome to the forum Davy

You would just have to measure across the base part of the seat and then the car to see if they would. Just make sure that you can mount them properly for height (nothing worse then having a seat too high with your head on the ceiling...). Davy

Ross, I was sorry to see Mike Kelly have to shut down operations--never a good thing for the Z community when one guy has to do that, but I am VERY happy that you have stepped in to fill the void. I am secretly coveting a similar set-up to these and I would like to buy one in the near future. I think it would add to the great parts you already provide Davy

Wicked! That's the first Z I have ever seen that a wing of that size looks about right. Very 'extreme' looking. Even though it is not what I plan for my own car, I do like the imagination and creativity that went into that one. Thanks for posting!!! Davy

Same thing goes for Volvos and their safety record---only partly deserved. Aside from me, most drivers of the 240 series Volvos have been old men and women of all ages--not the kind of a 'high risk' person who buys a Mustang, Camaro, or Vette. I think it was the JTR book that says the Vette has the highest roll-over resistence of any production car made, yet has the highest roll-over rate. If that is true (and I have no real reason to doubt it) then it comes down to the putz driving the car, not the car itself. What are performance cars made for, grocery getting?? Get real. Davy

Pete Paraska used them on his car and they look great! Davy

Nice to hear of the royal spanking you gave the other guy! I laughed all the way through the story. Yep, that was in the ghetto alright. Davy

Man, That just blows BIGTIME. I'm sorry you are going to the pen for this and I agree with your argument; at least from the info that we have. Hopefully you did not convert your guns to full auto. ALthough I personally have nothing against a law-abiding citizen from owning a full-auto, it has been an old law from way back that it is illegal to do so. If they are throwning you in the pen for merely having a cache of weapons, they need their heads examined. To my shame, I did not keep up with the gun control nazi's in my state and I had a rude awakening after returning from Europe that my collection was now 'illegal' since I had not registered them with the State before Dec 2000. The suckers passed a law and I had no idea that it was even there. It slipped so easily into law and I was caught off-guard. All of a sudden I was a 'law-breaker' even though I bought and owned these guns LEGALLY before their stupid retroactive laws. I decided it was not worth the possible prison sentence if caught, and I now could not enjoy the pleasure of 'legally' firing these things off at the range. So, I set off for Nevada and sold them on consignment there. In a few years I truly think that guns will be completely illegal and we will be living in a police state (they will have all the guns and everyone not military or police will be an outlaw if they own them, regardless of the Constitution). The Constitution works for those that cherish it, if enough of the people do. It is getting closer to a document with the worth of toilet paper as time goes on as it becomes worth less and less. Make no mistake that there is power in owning weapons and the original intent was to keep the federal government in check by being able to create an uprising with weapons if it ever became dictatorial. That time has long gone and the federal government has become so big no one can control it. Well, with no weapons there is no power---don't even think about the courts--the government has more time, money, and man-power then you do! Gentlemen, please don't misunderstand me: I am not bitter, angry, or am advocating an uprising. I am merely stating the way things are and the way they are going--one has to be blind not to see it. Free speech is becoming more and more scarce these days, so I'll take advantage of it now while I still have it. I was not going to reply to this thread other then the original first few sentences, but it just struck a chord with me since I have experienced this first hand. This sounds stupid from someone that has not been to jail, but make the most of your time while you are there--keep your mind (and body) as active as possible. Memorize your passwords to the forum and come back when all is done--we'll not forget you!!! God Bless You and keep your chin up!! Davy -

That pic reminds me of my AR-15. Man, I miss it... Davy

You must use one that is big enough to handle a V8---something like an upgraded Buick turbo called a 60-1. You could use block hugger headers and mount the pipes coming forward in front of the motor, meeting at a center point that goes into a turbocharger and then out one side. If you are going to go through the trouble of doing this, then you may as well go with efi from Holley (or the like) or go homebrew. Read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, Turbocharging by Hugh McInnes, and Fuel Injection by Jeff Hartman. You have to look for deals on turbos unless you are full of money. Alex Costa (zcarsmakemyheadhurt) on this board can get them for you at decent prices new, otherwise there is the junkyard... Davy

Not good. Just figure that the engine will need to be STOCK and be 1977 vintage or newer. Sorry. Davy

Aux, we could chain the motor to the back of the Infinity and drag it around the block a few times... That would be modifying it, right? I would not modify it since you are starting to cut the funds up in different directions. Make a decision, man! Davy

Golly, we used to dance like that in school back in the late 1970's early 1980's. It was "popping" back then and eventually became "breaking" or "breakdancing" as time went on. The two kinds of dancing are mutually exclusive IMO as the former does not deal with 'spinning' on the ground or anything like that, but just getting all twisty and the like. There would be contests between guys to shame each other with rude jestures like that one kid pulled out there. Very entertaining, Scottie. Gracias BTW, the Mustang was Davy

Either the JTR Datsun book or the Volvo book showed a modification that was done to the rear mount: the 'ears' were bent such that one was slightly down and the other was slightly up. Then washers were used to make up the difference when mounted on the crossmember. Personally I'd like to have a bellhousing that mounts it level, but since I already have a fine T5 bellhousing.... Steve, I love the looks of your car too!! It has the 'right' stance that just looks like it means business. Davy

Try this site: Bryan F's site You will find more links, more info, and more cool 510's on his site then anyone else's IMO. He's VERY good at modification BTW. Davy

Does Cali have any sheriffs?!? Heck yes! They patrol the unincorporated areas (county land) not the cities. So, that means that the unincorporated areas WITHIN a city (like San Jose for example) must be patrolled by the sheriff. Yes it is wierd seeing the 'local sheriff' drive through a metroplitan area to get to the few blocks of unincorporated land... Davy

David, I bought the headers from Mike W (zfan) from TX. He swears that they clear with no problems whatsoever. I don't have them mounted at the moment and the car is in pieces (engine out of car, etc). Try emailing him (I sent you his email) and see if he has a pick. I know he ran them for years on his car, and I bought them for turbo V8 use. Davy

That is very weird, David. I guess the CC2s are vastly different from the CC1s that I have. The CC1's fit, with no clearance issues. Too bad you paid for them already Good luck in getting the right ones! Davy

MSA full body kit, no BRE style stuff anywhere, "Baby Turbo" mirrors, ZX wheels. Nice, but not for my car. Davy
