  1. 'Premium' 91 here in the SF Bay Area is getting stupid expensive, over $1.90/gal. In MANY places here it is cresting $2.10 or MORE per gallon. Makes me sick. There is no genuine reason for it and last time I checked, we don't buy much petroleum from that guy we about to bomb...wait, maybe we do buy from Saddam according to this link posted elsewhere in the forum: Oily facts The Q45 is going to get sold by the end of the year..........no laments: more money for the 240Z Davy
  2. Just busy! But who would not be after buying a house and just getting married Davy
  3. Marcos, there are hundreds (seems like it) of Honda tuning places---pick up a copy of Import Racer, Sport Compact Car, Honda Tuning, etc, etc. and there will be places to buy springs from. If you want the "Summit" experience, go to Summit or NOPI for good prices. Davy
  4. Looking good! Do you have any numbers from a trip down the strip? I'd love to see some 1/4 mile and 60 foot times. Daily driver? Davy
  5. Wow, so that's what my seats look like in leather, eh? Maybe I will keep them after all. I'd love to get them recovered in Alcantera or something similar though. Davy
  6. The issue has to do with allotted bandwidth and what we can do with it. Hosting a lot of pics, etc, takes up valuable bandwidth and this site has consistently used up more bandwidth then is allocated to it. Hopefully that will be remedied soon by SuperDan moving to another server, thus giving more space available for the forums, members rides, etc. I would like to see that too! A ton of guys on this site have great rides that deserve some pictures!!! Davy
  7. Good for you! Just make sure that the car is 'all that you want it to be' in terms of condition. Davy
  8. Good deal $$$-wise. What kind of power are you planning on putting out using that Scat 9000 crank, Mike? I'm curious because I happen to like the idea of those cranks even though they are not 'forged' steel. I guess cast steel is the new wonder-material these days. At least David Vizard gives them high marks. I hope this engine builder works out great for you and gets every bit of power out of that motor, Mike. Davy
  9. And here too! Upgrades available... Gearzone.net Davy
  10. I have always liked Simmons racing wheels, that is, everything but the price! Keep them with a good negative offset and they will look smashing on the Z. The five spoke wheels are my favorites. Davy
  11. Like this? Try this: Z Car Creations They have some good stuff and the guy that started the business is really cool! Davy
  12. The Azev wheels have a 'cleaner' look IMO. I like them on there and they have more of a negative offset look to them. Much better IMO. Davy

  14. You know, I pulled the sucker from a Fiero (not what it originally was meant for) in the junkyard. Len168 said it is from an Eclipse, and from the look of it, I'd say it was a second generation car--no way to tell easily, but for $35, I can't complain since I'm going to cut and paste anyway. Again, keep in mind the year really does not matter since it will have to be cut, but I can say that the top of the airdam is even with the hood, like a G-nose, and it has nearly the same curve as well. Maybe Auxilary can take a pic or two, but he's disgusted with the idea of putting one on a Z car; too 'rice' for him. The other idea is to buy a good looking airdam (fiberglass only) for a Honda Civic. Take it and cut to fit the Z. Or, you could cut and graft parts of it to an existing Z airdam. Or you could take plaster of paris, mold the desired shapes and contours, then glass over it once it dries. Lot's of options now that I think of it. Just make sure that the look you are going for will flow with the lines of the car--that takes an eye for design; that's not what everyone has, but this is a learning experience right? Jared, if you have any other questions, you can always email me again. Davy
  15. You could use a more 'ricer' kind of airdam from an Eclipse and 'cut-to-fit' the Z car. I have one and it would work, although it is a bit wider by about 4 inches total. Flars would help and then again so would a genuine Z spoiler Davy
  16. That tool have been invaluable and I highly recommend it. Auxilary and I have used it in the junkyard and at his place--it works flawlessly. If Zthang is still selling them, I encourage you to buy one because they are relatively cheap, save hours and hours of time, they really work, and you NEVER know when you or a friend may need one. I guarantee it. Davy
  17. Accel makes some short spark plugs that are usually available at the neighborhood Kragen, Checker, etc. They have a supercharged V8 on the package with shorty headers and are made for tight applications. Davy
  18. We had a 383 in our '72 Dodge Monaco and it was a great all around performance motor. Yes, a 440 would have been nicer, but the venerable 383 did us proud!! Davy
  19. I second Mike's opinion. I had a full dash cap (it covers the WHOLE dash front and top) on my 260Z and it looked absolutely awesome; it was impossible to tell there was a 'cap' on there, period. The only issue was that the light dimming switch was a bit tight in turning it, but that was all. I would do a full cap again, but the 240Z already has a 1/2 cap that looks 'ok' but not as decent as a full job. My $.02. Davy
  20. My guess would be that the wiring is similar to any efi car--nothing some good thought and a couple of manuals can't fix! What are you doing or are going to do about the fuel system? Just curious. Davy

Try: Ford Taurus At the time he integrated those lights, to my knowledge the Taurus had not come out with that style yet, so the car was unique looking. Now, I'm not a fan of them anymore. Still, it is different and that particular car has a ton of mods in it. I think he gave it to his father. Davy
  22. Whoa, I haven't. Not saying they are stretching the truth, but those are quality cranks and are at least good to 500 hp. Failure can be caused by a lot of things, and that may not be the fault of the crank per se. David Vizard highly recommends them for 'budget' engine builds. If I buy a new crank, I'm getting one from them most likely. Davy
