  1. Hi Jmortensen, Thanks for a quick response. I was thinking of taking an extra step by cutting it open and blast the inside of the tank. Put the sealer on and then weld it back together. This is all depends on how to cut open the tank. If cutting around the edge (in the middle section of the tank) and the tank comes apart then welding back will not be a problem as long as I still have the lip around the tank. I guess my question is how the tank welded together from factory? I will inspect the tank carefully before I decide to cut it up. I am sure I will figure out a way to get in there to clean it up without cutting it up. Also thanks for the tips on the oil pan. I did modified my LS1 oil pan and did some welding on it. I will be watching for any leaks. Thanks again v.
  2. I am getting a gas tank repair kit from POR 15. I have not look at the gas tank yet but anyone knows a trick to cut open the 280Z gas tank and ofcourse it has to allow me to weld it back without a problem? Also what type of welding should be done to put it back? Thanks for the info. v.

  4. Thanks for the replies guys. I've search this site briefly before posting this but didn't find the answer. Right after I posted it I went back and did more searching and found the info about the A1racing site. HCTrouble, my project car is a 280Z and I found that info about the 2.170 strut tube also. I believe someone made a sticky about that thread but I didn't see it on the top of the page. Hopefully I have time to check out VRJoe's setup this weekend and get more info from him. Thanks again guys.

  19. It doesn't matter Z or ZX. You can add a selenoid to activate (open) it from inside or by using a remote. For the Z you can lock it with that button and still be able to pop it if you installed the selenoid.
  20. it's for the Z , S30. I have the same one on my V8 240Z. Please email me at anh3pa@hotmail.com and I will send you some pictures.

  22. You can find many of different types of these selenoids in late model cars at a junkyard. It should cost you $5 or less for it. You should also grap a relay for it as well. Mounting the selenoid can be challenging but it's not impossible to do. I have install door release selenoids and they are both installed similarly. Good luck
  23. Thank you Pete ). BTW I am 6 hours away from Pittsburg lol. I am from Philly actually.
