  1. What is the patch for and where will/should it go? On the car? I am interest if the patch serves some kind of purpose.
  2. The Snap on tool box is used and I got it for $1.5K and the guy delivered it to my garage lol. The lift I got for $3K installed. Not bad.
  3. David, Thank you again. I was going to use the braided SS flex hoses for my radiator. I don't have any problem with the lower hose but the top one will be a mess with the T fitting. Unless I can find a 90 degree metal elbow and weld a nipple to the elbow. Then I can use a rubber coupling from the outlet of the water pump to the elbow and then use the flex hose going from there to the radiator. That way I can still hide the elbow under my air intake duct. Here is a picture of my setup.
  4. Joe, I still haven't fix the Grand Am yet. I replaced the fuel filter and it ran great Sat but today the problem still there. I am going to try to replace the computer, TPS and O2 sensors today. That's basically everything is new. The last thing would be some bad wirings to the ECU. My project Z is at my house's garage Joe lol. I will bring it to my shop soon so I can get some work done under the car. Got to put the lift to good use now right? lol.. Later
  5. Thank you for the picture David. I am working on my radiator hose right now. I am trying to keep the engine bay as clean and simple as possible. So if I can find any place to run this vent line to I will get the T from MikeJTR and it will have to be installed right under the intake air duct so no one can see it lol. Thank you all for the response. Vinh
  6. Spare a little time today and got the radiator and stock C5 air intake duct completed. The stainless steel sheets look good doesn't matter what you do with them lol. I think this looks really clean. I have more pictures at the link in my sig. Have fun. Here's without the cover
  7. Phil, I checked and there is no email. BTW I just subscibed the Z magazine for 3 years. Art, Will I be able to get the 1st issue of the magazine?
  8. Snapon tool box and 10K 2 posts lift.
  9. Art, Thanks for the info. It was John Hunter Daily who took pictures of my roadster ZX at the convention. He's got a convertible ZX himself as well and he probably had something to do with how my Z was featured on your magazine. Sorry but I was never a big fan of any kind of car magazines. However, this one can be an exception. I will visit the web site to get info on how to subscribe to the magazine. MiKelly, I met Glen and Pete P. at the convention also. The Cobra Kit Car is my current project with the LS1 engine.
  10. Thanks for the compliments guys. Can someone give me some information so I can get the magazine? I have met John at the Zcar convention last summer and he said he will give a small write up about my car on a Zcar magazine. I have not heard from him since. Please send me a message with the info about the magazine. Thank you. Phil, I like the top picture. It came out nice.
  11. A friend of had a back firing problem awhile back and it turned out to be a cracked distributor cap. Eventhough we couldn't see the crack very well but when we put another cap on and the problem went away. Hope that helps. GL
  12. The way I see it is you don't really need that vent line. I've seen some guys did the LS6 intake swap and they just plugged those vent lines. For now I will just plug it where it comes out under the TB. When I get the motor running I will experiment it some more to see what affect does it has when it is plugged. I would think the worst case it will cause some overheating condition because of trap air in the cooling system. So I will see about that when the motor is running. If it doesn't work out I will then get the T. I want to do this because eventually I will do the LS6 intake swap and I can just cap the 4 plugs for the vent lines altogether if it doesn't cause any problem. Thanks for the replies all.
  13. Thanks David. Holly cow 6 RWHP just for plugging the water line? And I have to buy a kit for that? lol.. I wonder it will require a doctor degree to install the kit lol.. Thanks for the replies guys.
  14. Mike, Do you have the T with a reducer too? I am planning of using hard pipe with rubber couplings so I can well a nipple on it for the coolant line. Thanks for the info. I have something to think about now.
  15. It will be hard for me to T it to anything. I have an electric water pump. I have no heat so no extra water lines running. I have to check my friend's C5 to see where this coolant line goes to on the stock C5.
  16. How many of you guys disconnect the coolant line under the TB for the LS1? What affect does it have if I remove it? I would like to remove it if possible without any major affect because I have nowhere to run this coolant line to anyway. Thanks for the help guys. PS. I have some update pictures of my LS1 swap. Click the link in my sig if you want to see them.
  17. Bartman, Looks good. Mine will be a lot like yours. I will also use aluminum or SS sheet to cover up all the gaps around the radiator so that all the incoming air will go thru the radiator. Where did you get your strut brace BTW. I like it to get or make one just like that.
  18. Bartman, I made a few returns on some small vendors and they always charged me for restocking fees. Therefore for just a bit more money I rather have a piece of mine buying from a big name vendor like Summit. Also Summit doesn't charge you for the item until you've received it. I really like the way the radiator leaning back. This IMO will be good for the motor. The fan will suck the hot air and blow it down instead of right into the motor. Mark, Thanks, I am trying to document everything I do but it will be too much. I actually deleted some of the trial and error processes that I did from the web site and just show the end results with pictures. I bought the tranny mount from Quik240Z (David). I believe he bought it from JTR. This mount will be bolt to the floor instead of the rails. I will weld a plate to the floor where the mount will bolt to to strengthen it.
  19. After a few months I finally got the LS1 in the car. I've made all the new measurements of the driveline and everything line up perfectly with the old driveline. The steering shaft clears the header and C5 mounts. The EFI wiring harness is route thru the fire wall right behind the engine and will be hidden. The Griffin radiator is temporarily mounted and I have the intake duct problem solved. I am waiting for the fan to arrive so I can build a SS fan shroud for it. I am also waiting for the electric water pump from Summit. Next will be the fuel cell installation and a new fuel line running up on the driver side frame rail. I got a lot done but still have many more to go. Will keep the updates coming. If you want to see more pictures you can go to the web site in my Sig
  20. A friend of mine had a backfire thru the intake and it turned out to be a crack distributor cap. So my suggest is try a new distributor cap. Good luck
  21. Does 2000 CFM sounds like a good specs for an electric fan to cool an LS1?
  22. Does anyone know the CFM rating for the fans your guys are using? I will get an aftermarket electric fan and will build an aluminum or SS fan shroud for it. I am looking for the CFM on the fans you guys are using. SteveJ, Thanks for the picture. I can use that picture to compare with mine.
  23. It has the 3.8L engine. I doubt the CAT is clogged. This is a 1995 Van and it was well kept. It does has a new motor just installed and I didn't do the motor swap. I guess the guy who did the motor could have drop something in the exhaust and block it off somehow. Either way I have enough clues to go and find the problem. Thanks for all the response.
  24. What electric fan do you guys used for your LS1 conversion? What is the CFM rating on your E fan? I am looking to buy an electric fan for my LS1 swap. Thanks BTW I am talking about 16" single electric fan. Thanks again. Please tell me if you have AC in your car or not .
