I just read the manual and it says that the injector pulse is based on RPM and speed sensor and other stuffs which you already know. Does the ECU really take RPM and speed sensor factors into the the equation to calculate the injector pulse? Or is it just using that for the cruise controller? The ECU does have connections for both of these items FYI..

Holly cow.. My wife likes the car and she puts in the max bid 2500 and we still got out bid. I wasn't going to remove the fiberglass. If I win there is a way I can get the title for the car and that's why my wife wants it. Like I said before I had a parts 280Z car sitting here so I should have no problem getting this car running. I am kind of glad that someone out bid me otherwise I have more work for myself.
-
Sorry guys.. I am backin off on this car.. I just have too many projects to work on.. Someone from PA is winning the bid though..
-
I haven't bought the car yet and I already thought about chopping the top lol.. I will see how the auction goes. I will put my max bid 2K and that's should do it.. I have a 77 280Z for spare parts so I think I can get this car running in a week or 2. Oh man my wife is going to hate me for this. I am very farmiliar with John Washington and I forgot all about him. Afterall I did bought the Daytona rear tub from him. Thanks for all the help guys. If I win it I will take some pictures before and after.

Hey guys.. I just checked out the car. The car doesn't have the gas tank. All the underneath suspension parts got lots of surface rusts. Look like it will need a whole new suspensions from front to back. I have another 280Z parts car sitting here so I am not worrying about that. The Kit cracks along the doors and the back hatch so it will need repairs. The floor got some rusts and the driver floor was repaired by patching. Look like this whole thing is only good for fiberglass. The only problem is everything glued on the car and how difficult is it to remove them? It's going to take time to remove the kit without damaging it. What should I do guys? How much should I give the guy? He seems like a nice guy but I have too many things to do and I like to get this kit..

Fiberglass starnd added to Bondo Auto body filler
VinhZXT replied to Here comes trouble's topic in Body Kits & Paint
I have not used the products you listed but I had no cracking problem with using the fiberglass mat and resin to bond fiberglass parts to metal. I would suggest you to use the Mar-glass to glue the parts on and then use the Mat and resin to overlap all the joints if possible. Good luck -
280Zen, The resistor (sensor) inside your gas tank has build up on it. This usually tells you that you have rusts in your gas tank. Open it up and check it. Darrel, I have this same problem on my ZXT and I just called the MSD Tech and they said to put a capacitor inline to the power wire for the MSD and the Tach Adaptor. It's the current being drawn from your tach adaptor that makes the tach jump. Well mine is jumps down instead of up.

Mister Antman.. Look like you don't have much clearance under the hood. By the look of that pipe coming over the radiator hose I am sure it will rub your hood. Make sure you double check that carefully... Mario, Do your best to put the air filter in front of the radiator.. I had this IC before and I sold it to buy another unit that will help me run the pipes a lot cleaner. I am getting a headache just looking at all the clutters in the ZX engine compartment and then add the IC pipings.. lol.. Goodluck buddy

Anyone else interest in these flanges? I can get my brother make some. What is a good price to sell 1 of these things for? If it's a decent price then I can get my bro to make them. If not it won't worth his time he won't do it..

Thanks for the comments on my topless Z guys.. On another note I am checking out this car tomorrow. I need to know where can I get the "little things" to finish up the project and how much.. I guess this is a question for Zelle. Anyone has any input into what I should look for in these kits let me know. I don't want to buy another car but if it's cheap I might buy it and finish it up and resell it.
-
Man you don't know how bad I wanted to do this to my topless ZX car. I put many nights of thought into it and I thought it will cost too much trouble so I left it alone. I wish I 've done it though .. Good luck I still want to know how you cut the windshield ... BTW I am 5'6" and I drop the seat all the way down to the floor so I have plenty of room.

Hi Pete, Sound like there were more than 7 Kits made by Tom. I have emailed Burney from NC and he bought the kit from Nalle LTD and either assembled himself or paid someone locally to put it together. Thanks for the info I will update my page. Also Paul mentioned there was 1 kit got wrecked somewhere. I have to confirm with him. My family and I will be driving down Monday Jun 12Th. We will be staying on Wallops Island. It's a long way drive thru VA and MD but if the traffic is not too bad we will take 95. Please shoot me an email with your phone numbers and I will call you when I get to Paul's place in Richmond. I don't know Paul have time to have a drive to meet you and Glen but I will let him know. Paul doesn't play with computer either. Otherwise he should be able to post more info on here so we all can put the puzzle back together. Take care.. Hope to meet you soon..

Project Silver Bullet - 240Z LS1 Swap Update
VinhZXT replied to qwik240z's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Guys, Just curious how much did the shop quote you 2 for the swap? I have an LS1 with everything for the swap and I probably going to get someone to do it for me because I do not have the time. I would love to do it myself because I just simply can't trust any shop. Please if you don't mind I would like to know the quote just for comparison so that I can ask around. Thanks and good luck. Please take many pictures. -
Jamie, Thank you for your help again. Pete Paraska was surprised that you were the one gave me Paul's numbers. I did a search and found Paul's home address but it gave me some old phone numbers. Paul has been trying to call Sang to try to buy 1 back and he couldn't contact Sang. Anyway I will be on a business trip to Chincoteague VA in 2 weeks and I will stop by to visit Paul. He said he got a lot of pictures of some of the Cobras with Carrol Shelby and he want me to see them. Plus he wants to show me some documentations about the Cobras. I am so excited and want to get started with my project ASAP. Hopefully I won't be too far from Pete and Glenn so I can stop by and pay them a visit as well. I will be in VA for 3 weeks starting Jun 14Th.. Again Thanks for your help. I feel like I've just found a long lost friend.. lol.. I think I will hit off well with my new friend Paul. .. Cheers V.

Are both these CV's 280ZXT or is one of them a 300ZXT?
VinhZXT replied to pjo046's topic in Drivetrain
The CVs from the 280ZXT are not identical either. One is longer than the other. This is from memory I think the R200 bulges out on the passenger side and therefore the shorter axle should go on the passenger side. The longer one goes on the driver side. You need to find out which CV you have. The one on the right or bottom looks like a 300ZX CV and again if you want to use that you need to find out if it's the one you need (short or long). Otherwise if you put a short axle on the driver side it will pop in and out of your rearend unnescesarily. I've been hearing people using the 300ZX CVs with Ross's adaptors but I've never seen it. From my memory of junk yard days the 300ZX CVs are a bit longer than the 280ZXT CVs. My suggestion to you would be trying to get the 280ZXT CVs for the side that you are missing. GL -
Hi All, I have gathered some information about these Cobras. Have fun reading.. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/768663/9

When I painted my car I used the air craft remover from Pepboys to take off the old paint. Just brush it on and let it sits for 5 minutes then scrape the paint off. That should take it down to the factory zinc coat but not bare metal. That 's what I would do and suggest you to do the same thing. When you take down the paint you can find rusts under the paint also. This is when you take care of those small rust spots just started under the paint and the body filling. Then prime the whole car and wet sand with 600 grit. Keep using "guide coat" as you wet sand. Repeat the primer step if needed until everything smooth out. For painting the car that's another big lesson.. GL

It's not difficult to make the rail. Do a search on Arizona Speed Marine. I got mine from them. Good look piece and cost about 12 a foot and they sell in bulk also. Before you start drilling the rail get some wood and make a slotted base for it. Drop the rail in there so that it won't move and that will help the drilling more accurately. Obcourse you will need a press drill. Good luck
