  1. Right now I do about 45 but starting on the 26th I'll be doing between 50 and 60. Gotta jump start my life a little since I'm getting married AND just bought a house.
  2. haha, I didn't know that was on the plus side... My next big project is a 350 single-turbo (never had one of those before) fuel injected (never used megasquirt before) T-56 (never installed a manual transmission into a car that wasn't set up for one) bad boy. Needless to say it's coming very slowly....
  3. 120 compression all cylinders.... Reminds me when I did a compression test on one of my ZX engines. Went through the first 3 at about 140, then got to the 4th one and it read 130. Book said anything below 128 was considered too low. Gotta love that extra 2 psi.... Could 120 be good for that engine?
  4. I bet the neighbors were thinking a lot worse than that.... Ah well, who needs them
  5. Oooh! I want to post in a thread that's about to get shut down! I always read the ones that get shut down and wish that I could have said something in them....
  6. I'll have to disagree with you JT1, I'm close aquaintances (haha) with the owner of the most reputable machine shop in this area. He said to stay away from certain 400 blocks and I couldn't tell you which ones they are. He says that anytime people bring in those certain blocks he will tell them not to put any money into it and that the few people that have gone ahead have come back with major failures. If noone else chimes in maybe I'll give him a call and see which casting #'s he says to stay away from.
  7. Noob (atleast to the whole 280zxt engine) question: What intake is that? Is it custom? I know they used one very similar on the pinks build and I thought it was pretty cool.
  8. Of the three I couldn't care less what they put in it. It will be awesome no matter what they (we) choose.
  9. Try this: http://www.csgnetwork.com/cfmcalc.html notice the 100% calculation IMO, the dude you talked to is of the bigger the better persuasion (which is not always the case). I can't imagine you not being able to jet your Holley to get an ideal a/f mixture. Seemingly, a smaller cfm carb will give you better throttle response. I was about to post what 331CI just said about the Holley vs. Carb thing so I agree with him. Both carbs have their place.
  10. Man, that manifold looks like a horrible design! I've never seen one by itslef and I can't imagine anything less than gas POURING into the head. Forget mixing with air. No?
  11. WHOA!! I'm checking out of this one before things get ugly!
  12. I really like the logo but if you're close to people I think it would draw attention which might not be a good thing. If you're not then that would be really cool!
  13. Can't say that I care for the new name.
  14. Spend time and not money. When you spend money, spend it on books, tools and parts, not labor for someone else to do it. Even if you were to get everything put together by a "professional", you will still have higher upkeep than a factory-made car so you will have to keep paying someone or you will have to start learning yourself.
  15. Well that's a pretty nice piece to hang on the Wall of Shame. How much power were you putting through the thing?
  16. Hey, I'm 22 and I've been thinking about getting a bike. With a little time you would probably start to like me.....
  17. You want some advice? Do it yourself! Unless you have too much money, then get someone else to do it.
  18. Do you think that will fit under the hood? I guess I'm thinking of flipping a shortie headers because unless you got one that was really short you wouldn't have enough room to clear the hood with the bend of the pipe. If you do get this to fit please post some pictures.
  19. Well if all else fails maybe I'll do something like that, but I want to give this a shot and see how it will turn out. I think I'm going to go ahead and order the dynomax mufflers and two 180 bends with some pipe. I figure I'll just take the fenders off at first so if it never comes out right I won't have to try and do any patch work on them. Any thoughts?
  20. Let me be the first to tell you that I don't hardly know a thing about megasquirt. However, if you're just using the 4-pin module and not the computer controlled 7-pin module, why wouldn't you just hook the + side up to a relay that's controlled by the ignition and run it?
  21. Where's the fart can, or the wing on a FWD car:nono: , or the mustang GT:lmao:
  22. hehe, running water.... I'm surprised the government hasn't shut down the website yet and trashed their shop..... Where do I go to invest?!
