greghassen
On the lookout for a right hand drive S30 model ('70-'79 Fairlady Z coupe). I am located in the Cayman Islands but have no problem making a trip to the US or Canada if need be. I want it to put an RB26 in it so engine condition is not important. Looking for minimal to no rust on the body. Would like a decent interior but this is not as crucial as the body. you could try searching all u.s. cities craigslist. link here http://allofcraigslist.com/ or what i've been seeing is people converting solid rust free LHD cars into RHD. on craigslist there is a 77 rhd 2+2 for 400$ that has the firewall and dash parts that you would need. here is a link to whats involved in the conversion. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/84244-how-to-do-a-rhd-conversion/ i have also seen rhd conversions done without the complete firewall transplant. much easier but i have no links i believe they just cut out the area of firewall where the steering column is and transplant it to the other side. Not really too fond of the 2+2 lol
spitz17
come on, give the credit to where it belongs. you didn't find your current car. I did give credit where it is deserved. Look at my post of the cars findings on both here and CZCC. I mentioned you in both posts. I did look for a Fairlady Z ever since I got into Z's. Finding it through someone else is finding... I didn't DISCOVER its existence... You did that. ------------ To OP, I hope you find one soon! Edited November 15, 2011 by spitz17

Is it possible to use parts from a RHD 2+2 and transplant them to the LHD 2 seater? Are these parts identical even though the model is a bit different? 240zttv8
No they are not the same car! You would have to cut the complete firewall out and weld it back into the LHD car! I am helping a friend do a Ferrari convertible kit to RHD. He already had the car stripped and media blasted. The firewall is not even close to the same for mounting the dash or steering or pedals. The car looks clean too If you change your mind about the 2+2 model, my son has a `78 FairladyZ 2+2 (first JDM year of the S130) he'd probably let go. We're in FL. The S31 VIN prefix means it's a '76-78 car, definitely not a 1970. I hope he has receipts for all he says he's done...
