stony
Anybody using the AEM series 2 ECU yet? or know anyone using it? just curious if it runs the coil packs from the computer or do i still need to maintain the ignitor and stock COP harness. AkumaY
its designed to replace the stock ecu, so however it is stock, it will need it that way. so yes you will need to retain the external ignitor

ZT-R
Yea I am running it. Very happy so far. I did the CAS wheel install before the engine was running. Some people say its fine with the oem wheel, others have break up issues but I will do what AEM says. On a pretty stock setup yes you will retain the ignitor but just depends on what setup your running. My newer setup will be running the AEM twin fire and the Smart coils (built in ignitor). Let me know if you have any questions, I might be of some assistance, but I'm no pro.
stony
INterested in a how to on how you modded the stock harness to work with the AEM. I have 2 options with mine. Buy a premade $600.00 harness from wiring specialiities or buy a new $400 stock r32 harness and modify it. in your opinion is it worth the time to mod the stock harness or just spend another 200 bucks and get an aftermarket harness made for the AEM aplication. ZT-R
If you dont already have a decent harness, I would buy wiring specialties for sure. I just got a Chase Bays custom harness cause I am changing everything on mine and added a mil spec firewall connector.
jc052685
Running a series 2 with the AEM PnP in an S14 with a wiring specialties harness. Drive the car everyday on E85. Car made 458whp on 18psi with stock cams. I am very happy. I had to use the AEM cas wheel in a Z32 cas as not all RB cas's have removable pickup wheels.
