wickiewicked240z
Just installed a AEM wideband I welded the bung right after the msa 6-1 header flange. I have tripple 40dcoe webers they are basically stock except for the 29mm chokes. timing at around 16*, idle is stable at 900-800 rpm. Now my air/fuel gauge at idle is not stable it jumps around between 11-14. Could a vacuum leak at the intake manifold gasket cause this. BluDestiny
What is it at WOT or steady cruise? If you want to check for a gasket leak just spray carb cleaner all around the intake and see if it revs up a little.

BluDestiny
Uhm your idle looks perfectly stable around 13-14.
SDgoods
What did you tap into as the + source for the gauge?
wickiewicked240z
Well I have other autometer gauges so I tap the + & - from that.
johnc
I suggest you runa dedicated power source for the wideband and make sure you have a good ground. Exhaust leaks will cause erratic readings along with varying rpm..
wickiewicked240z
Thanks for the suggestion john I think I'm going to do that today. What do you think so far from the videos?
madkaw
The instructions I had were very specific about grounds- like not sharing a ground. Sounds good!
