So this showed up on craigslist and from what I know there was never a 1969 in the states, another thing is it me or does the car not look like a early 240z rather it's a later 240z the hatch doesn't match a early 240z the SU's look different too.

It's not worth 35K, unfortunately.

That hatch does not match, you're correct. The door pillar emblems are not series 1, so it's a series II car, based on C pillar emblems, rear hatch, and flat-top SU's from a 1973 car...

Point this out and the seller will scream and shout that you're trying to lowball him.

I agree with the '73 year based on the photos. Considering the date of manufacture is placarded on the driver's door jamb, my opinion of the poster slides away from incompetent to ignorant to malevolent.

Wouldn't touch a car from this poster on a bet.

Doesn't the VIN tell the whole story?  It's a big number.  Maybe the seller got sold a story and is paying it forward.

You have to admire the gall though.  $35,000 on Craigslist.  It makes you laugh a little.  He typed in twice so it's not a typo.

I don't see a VIN listed, but I agree it's not even close to being a '69 build. If the VIN listed in the first post is correct I'd say it's probably a '72. It's about 30,000 earlier than mine, and IIRC mine is a mid '73 build.

I would have said '73, if it wasn't for the front bumper. The '73 had a front bumper that was pushed out. It's not hard to fit an earlier bumper to the car, I've done this with my own '73, but there is definitely a mish-mash of parts here.

Take a zero off that price and it could be worth it.
