Jay Gadsby
Yeah, full time student, 2 kids (2 year old and 6 month), more VA appointments than I care to admit mean not a lot of free time.
trackzpeed
Well now I don't feel so bad.....6 months from Z motor pulled and LS1 driving. I feel for you guys, I own my own business (60 hr work weeks), have 2 daughters (another 60 hrs a week X2...=120) and a very patient wife of 23 yrs that knows my car hobby is ultimately cheaper than therapy....... Driving this thing is nothing but a case of the permagrins so far. "Stay the course" is the advice I have for all my fellow swappers. RebekahsZ
Pictures????? PLEASE!
trackzpeed
A few shots..... My Z outside my office (daily commute is so much fun now). finished exhaust, engine bay, camaro fans mated to Champion radiator, and my home made overflow out of a stainless steal sports bottle. New front diff mount, Speedhuts (4.5"), on there way. Looking into flares to fit my 255-50-16 R888's, new FG door cards, and TEP triangulated strut supports F & R. Holes are are welded from previous trim, but I need to get going on the mud. Hope to have some fun video soon. Jim

trackzpeed
Finally got my PCM hidden away up inside the glove box region. My battery holddown is the shiniest part on my car. A picture of my engine bay now complete. And the interior put back together… Having a blast driving around as weather permits. One annoying thing has creeped up, my fuel pump makes a sound like letting air out of the balloon..... It doesn't seem to affect acceleration but is crazy loud and needs to be addressed. Any thoughts? I have as ZG flares and 9 inch wide wheels on the way so I can finally mount my 255 R888's.
EastTnZ
Looks clean! Great work too! And what seats do you have installed? (They fit well from the pics)
trackzpeed
Sparco R100, they fit nice and work well.
socorob
Think they would fit in a 280z with the cat hump?
trackzpeed
Not sure about the 280??? I've never had one. All my experience has been with the 240 (I'm on my 5th one, with one early 260 thrown in for giggles)..... My fuel pump quit! All that noise was it giving up it's last. Not typical for a Walbro I'm told.... anyway Speedway motors was AWESOME and are sending me a new one ASAP and paying shipping to boot. Great customer service!. Richard Oben
Since you are just now done, dare we ask how much did you spend? Net of course, selling camaro shell etc. had to help. I know where I am right now and I have a long way to go. I know you still have some stuff to buy, gauges paint etc. But a ball park would be appreciated. Again, nice job. Richard. Jay Gadsby
It's a rather sobering thought process when you start calculating the amount spent on a car that isn't even near complete. I did this in bed last night... had nightmares about it afterwards.
trackzpeed
Ball park I'm into the car (all in) for about 9K-10k right now after bardering and selling off 240 and camaro parts..... I say 9K off the top of my head but I'm sure I'm forgettting numerous trips to the parts and hardware store for fabrication and do-dads stuff that just adds up....... so 10K at the very top end. I have zero regrets to date and I could spend up to 20K and still feel like this is one of the best toy decisions I've made in a very long time. trackzpeed
By the way, the fuel pump died..... I had a little to much upstream bend in my line and she burned up. New pump and new route, problem solved.

trackzpeed
Update: The LS torque loosed the input drive flange on my LSD R200 and she can began to howl horribly under deceleration.... Pulled the diff and all is well, torqued the nut to spec and should have it back in soon......
Stock Car Mafia
Where did you end up getting your LSD R200 from?
