trackzpeed
Installed a set of Trackspec hood vents. Car is running cooler even in 110 degree heat

trackzpeed
I'm working on a cold air intake, but didn't want to lose the fresh air venting. I used heavy duty 1 1/2 vacuum pipe Into a bulkhead fitting and some black ABS to create a ram funnel to re-route the "in" box. It turned out really clean and super functional. Now I have the upper 3.5 inch hole available to complete my CAI.
alainburon
That looks really clean, I assume they only did these vents on the early model S30 because mine does not have that.
socorob
The later Zs have a small hole in front of the frame horn, and the air goes through that into the vents under the dash that have the push/pull knobs to open and close. Someone told me if you leave those open, they help keep fumes coming into the car from the back, not sure if that's true though.

JoeK
I ran my cold air intake tubing on the passenger side, so that I'll still have fresh air on my side. What the passenger doesn't know, wont hurt 'em.
trackzpeed
Cold air intake.... of sorts. I didn't want to cut up the bulkhead so I just ran the filter to the blast of air coming through the old fresh air vent location. Combined with the hood vents, I am getting a ton of cooler clean air to my intake now. Before and after pics. Jim

trackzpeed
CV axel vote??????. Driveshaft shop or wolfcreek racing. Love to hear your thoughts..... Troy Ermish at Ermish racing says his are not LS rated and recommended Driveshaft shop instead. I know stub axle arguments already...... Just need some real words use input on the CV axle conversions. The thanks. Jim
trackzpeed
Well, no opinions from the community but Dave from futofab contacted me and said they are working on a "beefier" set of the WCR axles specifically designed for higher powered Z's coming out in the next few weeks. Im running futofab stuff already (most recently their adjustable TCA's which are beautiful and stout) so I'm supper stoked for this product to come to market. I'll post updates when that happens. RebekahsZ
WCR axles retain the factory stub axles and you can't check the hidden nuts for loosening. I'm still a fan of 4-bolt Z31 axles for ease of servicing and durability. Unless the new WCR kit has CM or heat-treated billet splined axle stubs, you are still working with stock 40 year-old components.
Richard Oben
I know you don't want to hear this but I went 930 CV with 4340 shafts on the 8.8 so everything but the 240Z outer stubs are 28 spline. I have a set of 280 stubs for out there when I do the disc swap. If it helps I have a set or two of half shafts I can send you if you need them to get on the road. Richard. Stew63lq4tt
Trackzpeed, do you happen to know how large the primaries are on the CXR headers? Thanks for all your feedback to date

trackzpeed
Thanks Richard...... I have an extra set of half shafts as well, I'm just itching for the upgrade. I'd love to see your 8.8 solutions. Still waiting for your build log. Your work on factory fives was impressive and this Z community would greatly benefit from your skills.
