Ean
finally got to the point in my build where i'd like to get the car stripped and primered, and set of SubtleZ fenders installed. Anyone have a recommendation for a shop somewhere around the san jose area? Most of the shops around here are either strictly collision repair or seem to specialize in the higher dollar restorations...any recommendations would be appreciated. thanks, Ean
Nelsonian
I can't help with a suggestion for body/paint place, but would love to see pics of your car. I also have the the subtle Z kit installed on my project car..

Ean
Nelsonian - I don't actually have the kit yet. It's ordered, and John reports it's in the QA process now. Probably see it in a few weeks. I'd love to see pics of your car with it installed tho!

LLave
I too have started looking into paint and body in the Bay Area. I am looking into the costs/benefits of hauling my car to Nevada for paint and body. Hard to get clear answers.
Ean
yeah, around here they seem to be collision only, concours level restoration or somewhat shady. Let me know if you find someone reasonable!
silverado22c
I no longer live in California, but I would recommend Jake Tomlinson & Company, out of Auburn, Ca. When I lived in California, I sent both my dad and aunts vehicles there. To go along with the vast amount which were referred during my time at Land Rover Rocklin. For years, we would send vehicles to Jake's, even though the Niello company had its own body shop. Might be a bit further than you are wanting, but would not be disappointed in the results. Ean
thanks for another option Silverado - they look a bit pricey, but I go thru that area several times a year and will be sure to check them out.
silverado22c
Ean, yes they are a bit pricey, but well worth the final result. Like you said, that you head thru that way, doesn't hurt to stop in and see 1st hand the results of others vehicles.
Leon
William is pricey and will take a while but his work is fantastic. Rob at ZCG sends a lot of his cars through William's.
auxilary
William's Autobody does really good work and is expesnive, but their wait list is 1.5-2 years last time I checked and a full repaint/restore starts at 15k.
