Dwayne_The_Rock_Datsun
Those who installed a LS6 engines did you keep the DBW or convert to DWC? Seems DBC would be better for the but the switch might be a pain.
G-Tech
Depends if you have the computer or not already. if you dont, you just have to get a DBC throttle body and a F-body Camaro computer. They were DBC. Thats what i did. Im just a mechanical guy so it seemed easier but i"ve learned its not a big deal to do DBW if thats what you have. Im not sure what has to happen with the gas pedal for DBW but my guess is there is a simple solution for it if you research it.
280Z-LS3
I suggest using the DBW pedal and computer. Cleaner install and OEM proven technology.
Richard Oben
As G tech said. All depends on the computer. If the DBW computer is there use the DBW. The module is almost separate from the computer. Making room for it on the floor may be a bit of headache or super simple. Have done both DBW and DBC both work fine. HTH, Richard. 280Z-LS3
Newer computers like the 2008 LS3 Corvette unit I have has the engine ECU and DBW ECU on the same board. Most aftermarket ECU now allow for DBW Edited November 25, 2020 by 280Z-LS3
DonH
Depends on computer you will use.... I went DBC for a few reasons - I wanted to use the Holley Terminator X - $1000 model... So i went DBC - Cheap and reliable and can be make to look nice on the install. DBW would be amazing also for a cleaner look. If staying stock computer and your engine you buy has a DBW setup - run DBW. So long as you have the pedal and what not.
