Synlubes
I love the L series motor. I worked on imports for 15 years. I just love the simple design of the L series. I wont say it`s the best(it`s not), but it`s easy to work on and it`s pretty damn tuff. Runs good too!
fl327
the L motor has to be the easiest engine to work on ever, especially the alternator and starter.

Moridin
Gotta be the new Cobra 4.6L. Change the supercharger out for an instant 600HP. Want more? Just up the boost, add exhaust, chip, and intake. Need I say more? How about 750HP without even taking the head off.

johnc
You don't have it listed: VW Flat Four. It powers cars, aircraft, boats, off road vehicles, and industrial equipment; holds drag, road race, off road, land speed, air, and water speed records; and you can find parts for it anywhere in the world - including Antarctica. Guest Aaron
Infinity 4.5L, I love driving my grandmother's '92 Q (moreso when she is not with me ). Just wish the aftermarket was better.
Moridin
Can't you double the displacement on some of those motors by boring and stroking it out? I know my dad had quite a baja bug when he was younger. Not sure why though. He could have bought a Pantera or a '69 Mach 1, but was short about $100 each time.
