CruxGNZ
THAT WAS FREAKIN' AWSOME! I loved that, thank you for posting that. I had to crank the system up to get the (almost) full effect. Have you guys seen the video of the F-14 busting the sound barrier about 50' off the ground? And, oh yeah, he did it right next to a aircraft carrier with people on the deck. The sound was not that great, but it was cool to see the cone that was formed on the water. I have the video, but no place to post it. !M! Dave
I have a couple of the F14 Videos hosted http://24.21.169.222:8884/Aircraft/fighteroverwater.wmv http://24.21.169.222:8884/Aircraft/F14-Punching-Sound.mpeg Right Click to Download
Jay1970Z
I saw either an F-14 or F-16 break the sound barrier right over Ft. Lauderdale beach about 3 years ago at the Air and Sea Show. The guy next to me fell down and it scared the crap outta me. The pilot got in big trouble since he broke a ton of windows in all the big condos and hotels on the beach. CruxGNZ
Dave, That "fighter over water" video is the one I was thinking of. Cool, hey? I love it! That second video I have seen before, but never found it, untill now. I thank you so much. My Dad has been wanting to see that ever since I told him about it a couple years ago. Jay, I was at the air and sea show in Chicago this year and I was talking to a guy that said the sound barrier was busted by accident a year or two ago at the Chicago show. I guess, like you said, quite a few windows got broken !M!

Guest Want aZ
Was down in Fla several years ago with a friend that has a condo on st george Island. was out in the gulf fishing, one of the F15s out of Eglin AFB was going low and fast over the water. Flew about 100 feet over the boat, then circled around again then once over the boat pulled it vertical then hit the afterburners.... I have to admit IT WAS FU*#&$*& AWESOME!!!!! I could not even imagine flying one of those, but It would be a rush. Hell Would probably work for free if given the chance... Damon

Guest Z-rific
That reporter is Alain De Cadenet, seen frequently on Speed Channel at vintage races and classic car auctions. That guy knows more about classic sports (moslty European) cars than most of us put together. He is particularly knowledgable about Ferraris and Porsche's from the 50's on. I think he has owned several Dinos, Daytonas, E-Types, etc. He was also a well established racer for those years and has driven every dream car imagineable. To think of all the close calls he has had, and this is the one that problably scared him most!

JMortensen
I was gonna make a crack about which was more exciting, racing Porsches or having a Spitfire fly 6 feet above your head... I love the Porsche and Ferrari shows he did. Just amazing. Jon

CruxGNZ
Now a real swapper would say "How could I put one of them spitfire engines in my car" Hey, Glen check it out http://www.rodshop.com.au/project55.htm And yes, he was dropping flares. These are used to defended themselves from heat-seeking missiles. But in this case, he was just showing off I believe. !M!
