BABY!

Yep, that's right, Nic is gonna be a Daddy. Just found out a couple days ago.

Wasn't exactly planned (and we took our means to try to prevent) but I wouldnt call it a mistake.

Now, what do you guys think?

It's gonna be a 2004 240-Baby

I am definitely thinking of going with a turbo setup. Maybe an R-Baby-26DET.

I am pretty sure a B.O.V. and an external wastegate would come in handy. :D I'm concerned about leaks though. I dont know if I would trust any stop-leak, so I guess I will just have to keep feeding it as fast as it drains out.

What about exhaust? I dont think an open exhaust is a good idea because I could end up with sutty deposits everywhere!

What about seat covers? Cloth seems a little too old-school.

Ok, chime in guys, serious or funny..

Just be carefull......the timing is off from the factory and they tend to backfire through the exhaust and intake, usually spilling raw fuel or spent fuel and gas :D:D

Oil changes are frequent and disposable filters are a must. The intake usually has no resonance chamber thus is generally pretty noisy, especially if fuel surging. Durability is low, thus many cool down periods are required. These will deminish as the break in period continues. And just like any beautifull sports model, just looking at them during cool down periods are a joy!!!

Good luck and congratulations!!

Once it does start running you will have trouble getting it to stop. If it gets too hot it will definetly diesel and continue to run...sometimes for quite a while. Although it won't hurt the engine it will be hard to listen to and you will think "how can it continue to make those horrible noises and not blow up?" Definetly go with the vinyl covers as the newer models leak profusely from the rear seal!!

Congrats Nic...things will never be the same again...but in a good way!!

Make sure you feed it straight natural milk injection for the first few months at least. Proper break in with milk injection will ensure that it remains resistant to mechanical failures.

As to the exhaust, I think your model already comes with a fart pipe from the factory.

Congrats! :2thumbs:

LMAO! :-D

I guess I am also gonna have to worry about that pesky exhaust fume issue that plagues many of us here..

Anyone know what to do about the 2AM auto start?

On a serious note, thanks for the congrats. I am obviously a bit nervous entering this territory.

BTW, anyone think I should write a how-to or take progress pics?! :D

Nic,

There is one, and only one solution to the 2 am 'auto starts'. Delegate mechanic duties to the factory CEO. :D

On a serious note....mine started sleeping throught the night as soon as we augmented the natural fuel with synthetic (formula) at the last PM feeding.
