jaime240z
Wow looks GREAT!. Please share your specs....! It looks like you have a Ford 5 lug set-up....? I'm going to be doing the same here very soon I I'm wondering what wheel sizes will fit (biggest)!
jaime240z
Any chance you want to sell your old wheels...?
Mikelly
Nice rims... Now you just need an air dam on the front of that car! Sweet... Oh, I've got a set of those silver five stars I'll be selling in a few months as well... Soon as I decide on the wheel I will be installing to replace them... those are the Mustang 17X8 GT wheel from 2003. Mike
Guest V8Z
Hi, Yes it is the 5 on 4.5 ford lug pattern. I used JY 300zx front hubs, Toyo brake kit from MM. On the rears I have the 240sx kit from MM, and braided brake lines from fonebooth. I have coilovers with the 8" springs ( wish I would have went with the 10") and had MM redrill my rear hubs. The rims are 17x8 Boyd Coddington Smoothie II with a 5.75 backspace and 5/16" spacers on the rear. I am VERY close to the spring perch in the rear even with the 5/16" spacer in the rear ( hince the wishing for 10" springs) but I'm not touching, and I took it out today and drove the hell out of it and no problems found YET! The tires are 235-40-17 and they let me get the car down as low as I wanted it but had to give up some ride quailty with that thin of a tire. jaime240z
Thanks for the detailed info! The wheels look awesome! I can't wait to get the 5 lug set-up bolted onto my Z. Mike, I realize you're clear across the states. I'm hoping to get a set of inexpensive oem GT wheels and tires just to get me on the road until I can afford a nice set of wheels and also to get an idea of how big/wide I will be able to go with the new wheels. I'm afraid shipping costs would end up being to much to have the set shipped to CA.....? Oh well, I think all the local JY guys are getting to konw me too well by now..... Mikelly
Jaime, Check Ebay... These wheels can be had cheap in your area... I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a set... Mike
ToplessZ
Hey mike I love the wheels you got to them first but anyway I have been watching these on ebay and aout 600 plus shipping is the cheapest I could find. I would rather have the 10.5 rear wheels though looks like you have the 9 inch all around. Still if you can find a source that sells them for less please let us know. Im looking for the black center ones.
cygnusx1
I am not a big fan of chrome/polished wheels but they really look great on your car. Perfect match to the era, the bumpers, and mirrors. That is one clean sleeper Z. Very Nice! They remind me a little bit of the classic Cragar muscle car wheels.

I thought the 8" springs gave you more room. Ross told me that the 8" springs put the perch above the tire. What rates did you go with? Do you think I could bug you for a pic? Thanks! EvilRufusKay
I see what you mean....was this in your gallery before I asked? I don't think the 10" would help, can't you adjust the perch up? It would raise your ride height but you could go wider.
Guest V8Z
Your right I said that all backwards, I was trying to say that I wish I would have gone with the 8" instead of the 10". That pic. you see in my gallery of the rim so close to the coilover is when I decieded to mock up washers to see what thickness of spacer I would need. Let me know if you need anymore pics.
