Guest l28et
I was reading about the Honda S600. Twin cam, 600cc, 4 carbs, 9.5K redline - in 1965! Sure its only like 55hp, but it still would be fun to see/hear it in action. My question is, why didnt they make this engine 5x bigger? 3.0L DOHC would have been a sweet setup. BillZ260
Probably sounds like a sewing machine!
veritech-z
"You meet the nicest people on a honda" oh wait, that was their motorcycle campaign...I'd bet it sounds a fair bit like a honda bike from the period. Sure does look like an MG, doesn't it?
jimbob_racing
I've seen one of those race at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix and you cannot believe how loud it is. It's the only car that you can hear from any point on the track while spectating and the sound is pretty much the same as a sport bike. Outstanding. Drax240z
They are really sweet cars actually. Lots of fun, lots of character.

slownrusty
Those cars are absolutely awesome...love them to death...I believe they had 4 Keihin carbs....the S2000 is a true descendent of that car...the equivalent Toyota of that area was equally awesome (800cc of pure adrenalin): Yasin
JMortensen
Isn't that the Honda that had roller main bearings and chain drive?
Guest Zpeed
yes it had a chain drive, theres quite a number of them in australia, prolly as rare as fairladys, but ive seen numerous times, restored ones, and project cars up for sale in aus... Pop N Wood
Looks like something right out of a Godzilla movie. I think the really early Civics had chain drives also. Would love to have one of those. Wonder if a CB1000 engine would bolt in.
BrandonsZ
Talked to someone who owned one said the chains were on the rear axel that attached to the independant suspension, and when you stepped on the gas the car would raise up a couple inches and then when you came to a stop it would lower again. qwik240z
I went to the Mitty in Atlanta last weekend and there was one there. There was also an old Toyota Sport 800 mentioned above. Both were really nice cars. The also happened to be parked right next to each other:
