OlderThanMe
Well The burgers here at college are pretty good so and I am thinking about getting a blender to use. I think I'll sell my bike since it is in really good condition except for the fact that the derailer needs to be adjusted a little bit... It has a front disc brake and rear caliper, front and rear suspension, 21 speeds, 2" wide tires... Was $200 new..will take $75 for it...aluminium frame...pickup and cash only...lol
Duke
Awful. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully you can still work on the car....

OlderThanMe
well I have a jay leno huge chin now from the swelling... do you want a close up of the 10-12 stitches?
veritech-z
10-12, that's it? Medical science has come a long way...when I managed to hit my own face with a golf ball, they stopped counting my stitches at 21 because the guy said it was bad luck to count them... OlderThanMe
and a nearly 2" gash...I think I am going to have surgery today... my left hand has a 1.5" circle where most of the skin was ripped all the way off.
veritech-z
Titanium teeth, AND a robo-arm? You'll need to change your avatar to this: "Gentlemen, we HAVE the technology..."
Sparky
ouch, getting your jaw wired is NO fun at all. when I was a wee lad I crashed my bike hard flying down the biggest hill in the ol hood. Broke my jaw and fractured my skull. I ended up sliding on my FACE for about 20 yards according to my neighbor. My mom had to scrub the gravel out of my face everday for two weeks thankfully though I have minimal scaring..but my jaw does that stupid clicking thing all the time now, and you can still feel the offset in the bone sweet! Guest 280ZForce
damn OTM, hope you recover quickly. sorry to hear about the spill you endured while riding your badass mountain bike. take it easy, broken bones suck, especially in multiple break incidents. i broke my upper arm in more than 5+ places back in mid January of this year and I'm still recovering 9 months later and still have awhile before I'll be back to normal. So just be patient and be careful.
blueovalz
EEEE ouch! I bet you feel older than me now. (ooh, does something stink?)
OlderThanMe
aha...yeah I stink a little....hard to brush teeth when my bottom jaw is in 5 pieces...just try to rinse out with a little H2O2 and hope for the best. I wasn't even doing any fast downhill mountain biking!!! I have gone faster than that going over small jumps and tight turns and between very tight trees...I guess it is good for mountainous areas...not Florida... The surgery will be Tuesday or Wednesday...go figure.
johnc
Man! Sorry to hear about the wreck. I guess those full face bike helmets are looking better all the time.
sweetleaf
I feel you man. My other Z just attacked me last sunday . (280ZX) I think it was pissed because I have neglected it due to my work on my 260ZT . I got 26 stiches and 2 cut tendants. Luckly it was my left hand...If you wanna call that lucky.. I wish a quick recovery for you. I have had multiple accidents on my bike and my dirt bike (Sold) Too many facial stiches and replaced teeth. I do miss it though.. OlderThanMe
yes they are looking good (full face helmets)... especially since I do a bunch of actual mountain biking back home. A new set of gears looks really good as well. I just bought a set of fenders and a lock/cable and a bunch of other bike stuff.
240zV8
man thats gotta suck! I did somthin similar, but i was riding my bike and hit a patch of gravel and the front wheel just slide out and i went cheek first into the gravel, and had gravel all cut in my face. But thats nothing compared to breaking ur jaw like that, hope u heal up soon. Keep riding ur bike though, not enough people do it. If i didn't tow a excavator to work i'd ride to work..lol... the money i'd save in gas and insurance could be put straight into a Ls1!!! Moridin
More and more I've been wearing my full face helmet on my mountain bike even when riding around town. I know its saved my face a few times. Sorry to hear about the jaw. Hopefully, you have a quick recovery.
savageskaterkid
I learned the best ways to ditch the bike, I don't have a mountain bike anymore, but I do play with my BMX from time to time. There is a certain skill to ditching the bike. I can be thrown over the bars and land on my feet everytime now. When I broke my ankle I hadn't learned that yet. I also didn't know that doing nose-picks(slam your foot into the front forks and it gets the bike vertical on the nose, at SLOW speeds) fast would cause the bike to flip over and throw me over the bars, and have the bike frame nail my ankle.
