S30TRBO
Are V-8 swap Z-show cars really bringing this much? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-Datsun-260Z-1-Of-A-Kind-St-Legal-Sports-Car_W0QQitemZ300041439554QQihZ020QQcategoryZ6188QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Guest Mike
Absolutely NOT!! The guy is DREAMING. I don't care how nice it is.
deja
Would be interesting to know what the offer he rejected was. It all sounds impressive but for that money there are better rides. There looks like there's a ton of rust on the frame. And what's up with the AM/FM cassette? its 2006 dude, put in a decent sound system. The custom body panels are pretty cool, but I've never liked the 2+2, would not be my choice.
cygnusx1
Whats with the rear shock absorbers? The photo quality is VERY poor as well. I think the rust you see is a lift, not the frame rails.
deja
Whats with the rear shock absorbers? Didn't notice that. Maybe a 2+2 thing?
Guest Mike
I don't care if the car was stored in a time capsule that effectively kept it brand new for 33 years. It doesn't matter if he has $30K in updates alone. It is NOT worth anywhere NEAR $60K. The guy is just fishing for a dumb trout. The stupid thing is... there are a few dumb fish out there and he may get his price. It's sad but true.
Twoeightnine
Probably what he spent on it. But who gets what they spend as a return on a custom rod? I have seen a custom, show, restro mod 240Z go for 32.000.00! We'll see.

Just watch Barrett/Jackson, there's a lot of people out there with money to throw away. There's something seriously wrong when someone spends a million bucks on a '69 Chevelle. Twoeightnine
Yep, yep. I saw that one. It's like in Vegas. You get three hundred millionaires in a room, money looses it's value. Ego buy.

that240guy
That thing looks like it was built in the early 80s back when the gaudier it was, the better it was. IMO that thing looks terrible. I wouldn't trade my bone stock 260 with ls1 for that thing.

IMO that thing looks terrible. I wouldn't trade my bone stock 260 with ls1 for that thing. The indoor pictures look like they were taken back in the 80's. Here is the link from the original website: http://www.classyauto.com/v/Datsun+260Z/50871 Now come on I know someone on here will jump on it??? lol I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one that thought this guy is smoking.... S30TRBO
Just seen this: http://www.classyauto.com/v/used/Datsun+260Z/32433 Original 260Z w/ 19K miles for $9K. To bad it's an automatic.
cygnusx1
Speaking of overpriced...my friend and I stopped by a used car dealer affiliated with BMW. They had a beautiful 2005 M3 in the showroom used with about 12K miles on it. It was white, 6sp manual, had black wheels, a custom trunklid, and stick-on carbon fiber layer (stickers) on the front lip. He wanted $65,000!! I questioned his logic. His argument was the black powder coated wheels, the custom trunk lid, and the carbon lip made it rare. LOL.
hotimport
Damw i tought only buyers were dreamers. I guess sellers are trying to dream about their money too...
jt1
I think he would be lucky to get 6K for it, let alone 60K. jt
b__sosick
It's a neat car but he is asking way too much.
280Z Turbo
Don't blame the way that car looks on the rear seat! There are some really nice 2+2s out there. Apparently some dumb hillbilly (who doesn't know the first thing about Japanese cars) got a hold of a 260Z and modded it like it was an '81 Camaro. Guess what though...it's not a Camaro! That car is just hideous. I'd give him $700 for it as a parts car.
