Mine has a HkS to4R turbo and wastegate, $5,895 for a kit,(which includes manifold) so minus 3000 give or take, so your at 2000 for the turbo with is 700hp rated, http://www.titanmotorsports.com/hkst0turkitm.html

A brand new HKS VPC, $500-1000

This is how I see it.

$3000 for a motor AND trans (http://www.nagasakijdmmotors.com/02nissan/SKYLINE%20GTR%20R32-33.html)

$390 for an HKS 40mm Wastegate (buy anywhere)

$275 for an Gredd E-manage - a WAY better unit that the old school HKS VPC. Buy it here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GREDDY-E-MANAGE-EMANAGE-ENGINE-CONTROL-UNIT-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQihZ008QQitemZ180020837741QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V) - Explanation here (http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/801)

Now that adds up to $3665 and leaves just the turbo. According to the HKS website (http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=824)... that turbo is supposed to sell for $2500... but you can get a comparable GARRET TE67 turbo for only $900 (http://www.turboelements.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=7) - which brings us just a tick over the $4500 that you were asking for - AND - I get a tranny with it. I'm sure that you'll tell me that the HKS turbo is WAY better than the GARRET one... but the components are nearly identical and I consider GARRET to be a superior product. PLUS - who is going to want exactly what you have for sale when they can buy brand new parts for a similar price? Just my $0.02.

We can nickel and dime his parts - however what you used as a reference is a R32,(they claim /33, but I seriously doubt it - maybe 1 in 10) motor, and for that price, likely a high mileage motor.

But the important part of your your reference shows it as a "5 speed AWD tranny", not a 5 speed RWD tranny - another factor in cost - so its actually equal in that respect as the AWD tranny isn't really worth much of anything other than a nice boat anchor.

$4500 seems reasonable. I'm sure if someone offers him close to that, they will get a decent deal.

Speaking of which - Cyrus, I'm interested in the stock exhaust manifolds - but I'm not really interested in purchasing them. If you sell the motor and they don't want them, I'll gladly pay shipping. I'm interesed in hacking up a set for porting, etc.. w/o having to put mine out of commision.

thanks Bob H for the comments and support. I will look for the stock manifolds.. find someone to pick up my motor and acc. and they are yours!!!... if ya cant. ill give em to ya anyways. Just pay for shipping.

Its a 32

trwebb26- does the emanage eliminate the MAfs on the RB26? The VPC does, which is a very helpful tool when making nice sums of power. No pesky mafs in the way, or upgrading ect, Seen many cars make great power on the VPC. A local guy here in town set the US 7MGTE power record(900+) with a VPC,SAFC combo. Along with many DSM guys making huge power with the same combo.

I don't think it was negative - we just see it all the time, esp. when people are selling items - someone comes in talking about how their asking price is sky-high, usually pointing out a better deal. Having sold enough items online, it still bothers me from time to time.

Fortunately for all of us, you don't have to pay what myself and others used to pay for a RB26 motor and tranny. However they are still one of the most expensive motors out there, (among Nissan's).

That's good that they will swap out the tranny - and a good price with that in mind assuming you can know the actual mileage and condition of the motor. I'd splurge the extra for the R33 motors - they are "newer" and have a few updates worth keeping, (mainly the better designed crankshaft snout).

But with his aftermarket parts, its not too bad. The only unknown, (which he hasn't answered), lies with the year, i.e. R32 or R33. If it is a R33 motor, that is a great deal. If it is a R32 motor, he's got it priced about right in my opinion.

Nagasaki motors told me that they would switch out for an RB25 tranny at no extra cost... so it does include a tranny. I'm just of the opinion that maybe it isn't the greatest deal. Sorry if I seemed negative.

Running, complete, RB26's (32 or 33) go for around $2800 for just the motor in Japan. I would be wary of buying cheap RB26's in the States.

You can call all these places out many many times. Unless you know and trust this place that has some reputation or has some good feedback. Most of the importers dont even want to deal with RB26 these days, one is that the motor is becoming very scarce for the R33 and R34 RB26 series and cost have gone up. Most of the R32 are still not bad, but who want an R32 high millage motor for $5k that you dont even know what it has been thru. So what the importers here willing to offer is most likelly to be an R32 ranging around $3600-5000 with an AWD tranny. I just dont know where some of you find these prices. People who have done this swap before and a few years back paild allmost over $6k for a full motor swap. Prices still didnt change much.

As for cyrus, i think that you shouldnt have to struggle to sell youre motor. Its worth every nickle and dime since you got a bunch of accessories to go with it. The tranny part is hard, but if you could source one out it should be a solid sale.
