OlderThanMe
The little red go-kart like thing that is in front of the Zs...914? Found the pic on www.jcca.cc
Guest Z kid
Looks kinda like a lotus europa would be my guess?
strotter
Confirmed - early Europa. One of the first modern-era mid-engined production cars (pre-Bora?). Fiberglass panels, one of the most interesting frames ever put into a street vehicle - large box-section running front-to-rear, forking fore and aft - Very cool, very fast car. One of Colin Chapman's best.

EMWHYR0HEN
whoa, that car makes a 240Z look big. Now thats just weird.
zguy95135
Yea those things are TINY
73ZCAR
Yep, tiny and very very low. There is one rotting away in a storage yard near me. I got a close up look at it one day. I was thinking maybe honda or mitsu drivetrain but the frame rails in the rear looked too narrow, as can be seen in the photo above. Totally cool car though. Mike. zero
well you could always do something like this and mount the engine transversely http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-LOTUS-EUROPA_W0QQitemZ280043808628QQihZ018QQcategoryZ6312QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
73ZCAR
Thats what I was thinking, but it's a LOT of fab work. Mike.
jimbob_racing
I always thought a Europa with a 1st gen MR2 drivetrain would be an awesome car.
BlackBeaut
These chaps do a very nice aternative chassis, amongst other rather tasty tweaks to the Europa: http://www.banks-europa.co.uk/cars/cars_type_62.htm Cheers, Rob

strotter
Sorta-semi related question: what's kind of airdam/flair going on with the yellow and orange Zs? Pretty cool lookin'. I could see something like that on a street Z - the front on view is very often the least attractive for the first generation Zs, in my humble opinion, but the way that fender flair smoothly enters the airdam is attractive. Guest Mike
When it comes to tiny cars, I like Bugeye Sprites... with V8 conversions, of course!!
OlderThanMe
Mike: I know!!! There is one that is just sitting right down the street but the guy does not want to sell it!!! it has been sitting for 15 or so years (most of my life) and several people I know have asked him what he wants for it and he won't sell it. Thee is also a little 914 sitting in a garage that I would like to get my hands on. Both of these cars are within a quarter mile of my house! Strotter and MR. Insane...I'll post some of the other pictures of other Zs from that site. I think the orange one is just a regular non vented xenon air dam...I don't know about the flares. I have seen several pictures of Zs with those flares in Japan so it must be a flare that was not exported very much.
Guest Mike
BUGEY SPRITE... Is that one V8 converted?!
OlderThanMe
nope...I think it is stock. It has been raining on the interior for about 10 years now that the convertable top dissolved. It would be a project for sure as I am sure that the floor is long gone.
Guest Mike
I'd stay away from that one. There are too many very decent bugeyes for less than $10K.
